Peeing Too Much But No Infection

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a super irritated bladder. It all started around 13 or 14 weeks of my pregnancy, and felt like the worst infection ever, but all tests were normal. It finally got better after 2 weeks of literrally living on the toilet because of a constant sensation of having to pee! I feel likemy bladder has been sensitive ever since, and have some days that are worse and have that urge again, but haven't had any infections all along. Now I am 28 weeks pregnant, and I've noticed the frequency and urgency increasing again. Probably the weight of the baby now, but I just really need to know if anyone else has ever experienced this. My first OB (I switched halfway through pregnancy ) told me I might have a chronic disease of the bladder called interst_tial cyst_tis, but I don't want to believe it because she did no tests, and she screwed up on other things. It sounds like a terrible condition, marked by constant bladder irritation and aren't many cures out there. I am so scared, and would welcome any input!!

Hi Skylersmom, thanks for you input. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who has been dealing with this, but I am so sorry for your discomfort too!! I wouldn't wish this on anyone! I am definitely better than I was at around 14 weeks, but still seem to be going ALL the time! I am on a restricted diet to avoid any foods or drinks that are bladder irritants, like chocolate, citrus fruits, anything with citric acid in it, any spicy foods, onions, anything with tomatoes in it. Not sure if you're doctor advised you to do the same, but maybe it could help too! I wonder what it is about the way the baby must be sitting around that 14 week mark. I couldn't have imagined it was pressure from the baby already since it weighs almost nothing at that point, you know what I mean? But maybe it's just the position of the fluid and baby sitting behind the bladder. It is such a mystery to me. I was so sure I had an infection because I couldn't even go to work because I was in the bathroom constantly! Luckily it hasn't been like that since! I hope it doesn't return to that point as the baby gets bigger!

i wouldnt worry, just look frward to the end of pregnancy when it will all be over, i go to the toilet ,stand up, and need to go again,, its a real pain , isnt it, i find if when you are weeing, if you lean forward, you can squeeze out a little extra dribble that might hold you off for a little while

It is a real pain, you hit that onthe head, abbynmonique! You're right, just looking forward to the end. Only 9 weeks left to go. So happy to be in the single digits now for the countdown. It can't go fast enough!

hi im 18 weeks pregnant with my 1st baby and ive noticed also in the last few weeks that im going to the bathroom more than normal but i dont have any infections either. i thought once you got in your 2nd trimester it would ease up some maybe its just the weight of the baby or maybe the baby is lying very close to my bladder. i dont know but it really drives me crazy lol!!!

i know how you feel. im 28 weeks pregnant and i have to pee literally evey 2-2.5 hours. i am really really wanting to stop drinking so much but i know that i need to to prevent geting dehydrated. its especially irrritating at night... having to wake up every 2 hours... its actually kind of depressing because i know i wont get any sleep one i have this baby so i was looking forward to getting some sleep befor hand but i guess not =)
