Please Help Too Much Amniotic Fluid

I went to the doctor today and was told there is too much fluid. I am 36 weeks pregnant. I had a stress test which was fine but unnerving. The baby is already 8lbs (due date is 2/27). My doctor said I have to have an amnio to see if his lungs are developed and then have a c section. All within the next 2 weeks. On friday i go back for another ultrasound to measure the fluid and have another stress test. I am terrified there is something wrong with my baby. Has anyone else had this problem?
