So I am approximately 6 weeks along. Found out Monday and it is Saturday now. I've been to the doctor, had my bloodwork (which is doing fine...actually higher than normal). Since I found out, and a little bit before...I have had cramping. It is period like and lasts all day, but my doctor says it is just the uterus growing. I have also had a little bit of bleeding, but my doctor also says that is normal (only for the first day and then after s_x the other night). I go for my first ultrasound next week. My questions are...what is "normal" for cramping? Is it okay to feel like period pain (I used to get very bad cramping and this is not quite as bad). Also, mine lasts all day except when I am lying down. Is this normal??? How long should the cramping last? Responses please!

Hello Ambie. I had cramping in the first weeks too. (I am now 38 weeks) Its pretty normal I think. I am also someone who gets really bad period pain and it felt just like that although not as intense. Some people continue to get the cramping around the time when they would have been due for their period for most of the pregnancy. I would say that as long as you are not getting REALLY awful pains then it all sounds prety normal. :-) GL with the pregnancy.

Hey! I had cramping in the beginning ALL the time. I even went to ER with it, and they said its normal. Most women have round ligament pain just from the uterine muscles stretching, and its also normal to experience menstrual like cramps around the time your period would normally come. Im now 23 weeks and I still suffer with cramping all the time, but thats just part of it from I understand!!
