Anyone Else With Anxiety

Up until I was pregnant I was medicated for terrible anxiety and depression. I used Effexor which worked wonderfully. I worry about EVERYTHING. Now that I am pregnant and no longer medicated, I have anxiety galore! I am 16 weeks with morning sickness still and I worry about it all the time....where and when it will happen, because it just totally sneaks up on me sometimes....and for the rest of my day I'm continuously nausiated. I get so down because I don't feel like myself anymore. I feel bad pretty much every day. I am on phenegran to help with the morning sickness, but I STILL get sick sometimes. I always have this fear of getting sick!! I also lay in bed at night and worry about labor and if I'm going to be able to do it. I have asthma (not severe enough to be treated) and have had panic attacks before and the two just don't mix. I worry constantly....especially about going to work everyday. I am a teacher and it is so hard to teach in front of a cla__sroom of children when you feel like you can YAK at any moment....and I HAVE had to run out of my cla__sroom a number of times because of being sick. Its just miserable. I am SO excited about my little one, but so worried about how I'm feeling all the time. Thanks for listening....

I suffered with anxiety before I fell pregnant. I am only 5 weeks but have bouts of feeling very anxious about everything being ok with this pregnancy. Can this cause miscarriage?

I have had anxiety for the past 5 years. I was on Paxil for it, even for the last 2 months of my second pregnancy. When Paxil CR was taken off the shelves for not following FDA guidelines, I decided to come off of meds all togethor for it (MAN was that hard!). This pregnancy my Dr. informed me that pregnant women should not take Paxil due to a few cases of babies having heart problems born to women who were on it while pregnant. Not saying if you take it while you are pregnant you should worry, but I would mention it to your Dr. if I were you...or do your own research.

Hi- I was wondering if anyone had any recent anxiety problems and what they had done to manage them I am 5 months and I have crazy anxiety that just started. Was there anything that helped?

I have OCD and anxiety disorder and I have been on meds for most of my life. I know someone on here said Prozac is safe but my doctor told me unless you were compltley unable to deal that it shouldn't be taken... the baby will go withdrawls and trust me, withdrawls from antidepressants are real and not fun. I deal with my excess anxiety through excercise, venting to my husband or diary, and I take the kids to this beautiful park nearby and just sit in the air and the sun.. it helps me relax.

Hi- This makes me feel better that other people have it. What kind of exercise do you do? Also, most of my worries are about the health of the baby - is there anything you did to rea__sure you?

OH GOD its a dream come true to read this thread, i thought i was the only one running around cleaning the house with swollen feet, but what i was told , is that as long as you dont let the stress and anxiety effect your eating and daily routine, you'll be fine =]

I run, do the eliptical machine and lift weights..excercise increases dopamine levels in the brain naturally and helps calm you and lift your mood. It is normal to worry about the health of the baby but unless you are given some reason to think something is wrong dwelling on all the bad stuff that COULD go wrong just makes the whole experience bad. Concentrate on doing everything that is in your control to ensure the baby will be healthy, eat right, take supplements, excercise, and take care of yourself..try not to worry about the things you can't control. Goodluck
