Anxiety is actually very common during pregnancy.
I have it also and my dr perscribed me prozac, which does help and dosent hurt the baby.

Im 33 weeks pregnant and have the worst anxiety also. Now I cant even sleep at night because all I do is think about the baby coming, what if I cant handle it, im not going to have enough money, etc!!! I wish I could turn my brain off at night. I had anxiety before I was pregnant, but never took any meds for it. Im always scared of the side effects or what they do to your body. My dr just told me its better for the baby if you're relaxed, but sometimes its impossible!!!! Kel

I too, have anxiety problems. I worry about every ache and pain, and whether i'm going to have enough money (i have a c___ppy part time job, etc). before I found out I was pregnant, I had really bad anxiety problems. Make sure you get lots of rest and drink lots of water...and if you can pamper yourself and take some time for yourself.

Hello.
I'm 4 weeks away from having my 4 th, and I had anxiety before and have it come once in awhile, all you can do is try and relax, believe in jesus. And yes I thought I can't do this this and really freak out, which will make you sweat and even cause anxiety attacks.
I don't won't to take it that far, it's not easy but try to relax as much as possible, don't let things bother you. I believe It may just be depression, I have, they have treated me for anxiety and said, no its depression. I usually get the anxiety at night, just a long day I guess.

Yes, I have had bouts with anxiety - to the point where I had three terrible panic attacks where I started hyperventilating & sobbing and didn't feel in control at all. It was very scary. I also had a few days of depression where I couldn't enjoy things I normally did and just didn't feel happy about anything. After talking to my husband and telling him my fears about motherhood and my worries, I feel better.

I have also been having anxiety and panic attacks a week before I found out I was pregnant. My doc prescribed me Welbutrin. I haven't been taking it a week yet, but it hasn't seemed to help much. I have never been this edgy all the time. The only time I get relief is when I am asleep. So I feel for all of you all, but I am glad to know I am not alone and that I am not going crazy!

I had anxiety issues before pregnancy- make sure to exercise, use visualization techniques, keep talking to people, eat right, and don't forget to breathe! Seriously- breathing techniques have been of the most help to me (and prayer). It works! Hang in there!!!

I am 27 years old and am 23 weeks pregnant. I have suffered from anxiety for the past 10 years. I have been on paxil and It really did work. Now that I am pregnant I am getting them again. I have a feeling of being trapped and am always having strange thoughts. I am worried for my baby.

Up until I was pregnant I was medicated for terrible anxiety and depression. I used Effexor which worked wonderfully. I worry about EVERYTHING. Now that I am pregnant and no longer medicated, I have anxiety galore! I am 16 weeks with morning sickness still and I worry about it all the time....where and when it will happen, because it just totally sneaks up on me sometimes....and for the rest of my day I'm continuously nausiated. I get so down because I don't feel like myself anymore. I feel bad pretty much every day. I am on phenegran to help with the morning sickness, but I STILL get sick sometimes. I always have this fear of getting sick!! I also lay in bed at night and worry about labor and if I'm going to be able to do it. I have asthma (not severe enough to be treated) and have had panic attacks before and the two just don't mix. I worry constantly....especially about going to work everyday. I am a teacher and it is so hard to teach in front of a cla__sroom of children when you feel like you can YAK at any moment....and I HAVE had to run out of my cla__sroom a number of times because of being sick. Its just miserable. I am SO excited about my little one, but so worried about how I'm feeling all the time. Thanks for listening....
