hi! im pregnant with my second child and i had pains like this with my first one. in the beginning of janurary i had "period like cramps" so i went to the doctor, i was dialated to a 1, two weeks later the same thing and i was unsure if i should go back, but my family made me go and i was dialated to a three- i ws in labor for the entire month of jan- they gave me stuff to stop the labor and make my daughters lungs grow faster cause she wasnt due until the end of february a week later i had her SOOO... yes go to the hospital the pains your having sound like early labor and if they gave you pills to stop contratctions then that means your still having them dude the baby is coming 34 weeks, youll be fine my girl is three and healty as a horse she was four pounds at birth but everything is great! ALSO... it just sounds like the doctors or nurses there just didnt fully explain to you what was going on, obviously something was wong or they wouldnt have given you that medication even though you think they just gave you some pills and sent you home, that stuff is really powerful, and one more thing ANY time you feel like something isnt right, trust your mothers intuition, its real and youll be a great mom if you learn to listen to it, good luck!!! -christy

hei christy u know what....all that u just explain is exactly how i have it...my back and belly hurts real bad like i am about to get my periods....i tried a warm bath and tablets and stuff but nothing seemed to work...when i went to the hospital they did this u-s thing on me and and all they said was i wasnt ready but i need to spend the night...the hook me up on some cord thing to see if i was having any contractions but nothing was there..after they give me some really strong tablets that made me feel real sick and upset....but now after some days i have the same pain again i dont want to go back coz when we were there they didnt tell us that much...everyone just keep saying that its way to early....so what about those who give birth in week 23 and 28 so on.......thanks for ur input

well, i had my girl the day i turned 34 wks, anything before then is medically considered preemie, even though my daughter ws an entire month and week early, she was fine, thats why they are saying its too early, you should go in, with some questions- FOR THEM, ask them about drugs to develop your babys lungs in case it comes soon and ask them if your dialated, that means labor is coming, your cervix is opening up for the babys head to come out. if your only dialated to a one or two or even a three maybe your contractions arent big enough to see on the doppler or you could be having no contractions and just braxton hicks(fake contractions) that would make sense, them saying its too early- but them giving you medicine was for a reason(when they gave me that stuff even my husband remembers how sick it made me, it was awful) thats why they made you spend the night to see if you dialated anymore your in the premature stages of labor and man im tellin you that baby is coming you need to go and be all LOOK this is MY body and MY baby and something is happening please find out what it it and LET ME KNOW!!! you should really go though honey, dont let them make you feel stupid, your'e they're paycheck, have questions and demand to know whats going on!... good luck again -christy
