i am currently experiencing what you are talking about. I had the pains throughout my pregnancy and I just thought that when the baby was born it would all go away. Now my newborn is going on 3 months old and I still have the nagging pain located above my pubic bone and below my belly b___ton. My doctor ruled out PSD and I feel like I am taking an ultrasound once a month. I really hurts when I am standing in the shower trying to lift one leg to wash or when I begin to walk for a long period of time or when I am sitting for a while and then stand up. Lets not even talk about wanting to excerise to rid of this pouch from the baby, then it becomes extreme pain. I am really frustrated because I nor my doctors know whats going on. I feel like Mel I can never get a strait answer.

I wonder - Perhaps your OB's haven't read the European guidelines on the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic girdle pain? You'll find them on : http://www.backpaineurope.org/web/files/WG4_Guidelines.pdf
Read them yourself and then tell others about them!
Also read My Pelvis and I by Grainne O'Connor. "
WHEN I WAS A STUDENT MIDWIFE in 1993, my mentor - a sister working in the community would from time to time have client complaining of groin or low back pain.
"Ligament pain," she would say in a sympathetic way, "one of the joys of pregnancy, not much you can do about it."
She would then produce a maternity belt from her desk drawer, give it to the woman, and that was that. This, although I didn't realise it, was my first introduction to Symphysis Pubic Dysfunction (SPD).” More on: http://www.radmid.demon.co.uk/dsp1.htm

I am experiencing the same pain. It is especially painful when I roll over at night or try to lift one leg to put on my panties or pants. I now have to sit while dressing. I a__sumed the pain was due to me carrying twins. I am 22 weeks pregnant and started feeling the pain about 3 weeks ago. It seems to be getting worse. I mentioned it to my doctor and he said it was normal. Obviously he has never felt this pain!!!

I have been experiencing this pain for 2 months now. I am 26 weeks pregnant. I have had days where I could hardly walk. And, I have a job where I am on my feet most of the day. My Dr keeps saying it's just ligament pain. But, i have the pain constantly.

I am 8 months pregnant and i have that problem. It hurts so bad though I cant get put on pants and go up stairs. I was looking into this and found that it may be more than ligaments. they call spd( Symphisis pubic dysfunction). It acn happen while prganant or after. It could be a number of things including your pelvis in aligned right. Many doctors don't regard this and just blame it on regular aches and pains. But it can be harmful to your pelvis in the long run. Putting pillows in between you knees when you are on your side can help,

Pretty sure its round ligament pain. My son was 10lbs and I feel the same way. Mostly at night when im sleeping. Each time I roll over its really stiff, and painful, and each bone cracks! The dr said it's just that our body knows how to stretch a bit better this time....so yeah on that,....but longer pain until baby arrives..Good luck!
