Tens Machine For Backache

hiya, im 29 weeks pregnant, and suffering alot with lower back pain. i damaged my lower back during a previous pregancy, so the pain is a combination. i have bought a tens machine for when i am in labour, but i was wondering whether it may be safe to use it while pregnant to try and help relieve some of the back pain. does anyone know anything about this??

I know it says on the instructions to just use when in labour.. I had a Tens machine I used for pain and when i became pregnant I thought it was ok to use it if I got back ache bu it says on mine not to be used before 37weeks and not to be used unless in labour. I'm not sure why you could ask your midwife, It would be GREAT if it was ok to use :)
