I'm not sure if I'm 4 weeks pregnant or 6 weeks pregnant. The first day of my last period was June 28th. My ovulation date was July 12th. I"m not sure which date to go by. Either way, I took two home test and they were positive, then I tested positive in the doctor's office. I didn't believe I was pregnant because from a couple days before my missed period until now, I've been experiencing cramps that feel like I'm going to get my period any second now. This is the first website I've read that gives me hope that it might be ok. I have a doctor's apt. on Monday, but over the phone she's telling me that it's probably a miscarriage. I have no spotting or bleeding, just cramps. I'm so upset. This is my first pregnancy. Does anyone have any signs of hope?

Jen, my lmp was also the 28th and going by the online due date calculators that ive tried we are both 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant. :) i am also getting af like crams but the doc said that this is normal because of all the changes your uterus is going thru. a few days ago i started spotting a little so i called my doc and she did another blood test to check my #'s and at 5 weeks i was at 7000. she said my #'s are fine. i no longer have the bleeding and i have an ultrasound scheduled for the 12th. i cant wait!! cramps are normal except when accomanied by heavy bleeding. if you are still worried have your doctor check your beta # and make sure they are doubling. i hope this helps.

Spotting and cramping were the first symptoms of my miscarriage.

Lisa and Samantha, I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. How many weeks pregnant were you, and did you experience cramps the entire time? At what stage did the bleeding start?

I'm 6 weeks and have had a lot of cramping. My midwife said that some of it may be dehydration - she reccommended drinking a couple big gla__ses of water and then laying down for 20-30 minutes. She said this has worked for many of her patients. I've started drinking a lot more water and have noticed that the cramps have lessened greatly and have them much less often! Hope this helps some of you! Best wishes to all.

This is my third pregnancy (4 weeks) and I have very strong cramping/pain that makes me stop to catch my breath sometimes, it comes and goes throughout the day but lasts for several minutes, plus really bad back pain that does not subside. I did not have this at all with my first two girls. Things seem so different this time? Has anyone else had different symptoms with different pregnancies? I see that many people say that it is my uterus stretching that makes me feel a little better but I am somewhat nervous because that didn't happen before. but I do know it is all in Gods hands. Any ideas.

Heather, have you been checked for an ectopic pregnancy??

Heather - August 8

No not yet, I am going to the dr tomorrow, today the cramping was not as bad so hopefully it's ok. I'll let you know, thanks

I had cramping for a few weeks with spotting... I went to the doctor... no ectopic and I am now 13 weeks and everything is going good- I got to hear a healthy heartbeat at almost 10 weeks (which is a little early of average women from what I have been reading). Every person is different. It is hard to get an accurate opinion from another pregnant woman. Most of the people I talk to about pregnancy say they had cramping... a relative of mine had severe cramping with heavy bleeding and she is delivering next month! it's normal to worry... but also know that the signs for one persons miscarriage were also a part of another woman's successful delivery...

Yes I am six weeks into my pregnancy and I have been having cramps every since I found out. I also had slight spotting nothing heavy not anything in my urine just when I wiped myself there was blood this lasted about a good 6 hours. I hope I am ok though I have talked to people and they said this is normal for some people what does anyone else think.

it is a real relief to read these posts. I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks in April and am now 6 weeks pregnant. (i know-it's fast) I have had mild period like cramping for three days now pretty much nonstop. I am also having lower back pain but I have been extremly constipated during my entire pregnancy so I think that is also a cause. My cramps keep switching between period like cramps and gas like cramps. I have been so positive that i am waiting for a miscarriage, but this time I still have my pregnancy symptoms and reading these posts makes me feel soooo much better. Every other site I visited was written by some doctor or a__sociation that said cramping for a prolonged period of time was a bad thing. It really made me think that menstrual like cramping meant miscarriage for sure. I am going to quite worrying so much now, as I have been in bed for two days being miserable and freaking out my husband. I just want this pregnancy to work out. I feel a lot more confidant now, thanks ladies for your help. This has definately been the scariest experience of my life and I know so many couples that are just soaring through pregnancies right now with no fear. I always wanted that, I guess you have to create that situation for yourself
