Has Anyone Experienced Cramping During Early Pregnancy

Sounds like you're having implantation bleeding. It's a little earlier than normal period, but is watery or looks like mixed with eggwhites. Light pinkish, bright red or brown are all common. I would wait until the day after your period is due before I would test. Good luck!

I'm currently 38w5d pregnant with my first -- and YES -- cramping during the first few weeks is completely normal as long as it's not SEVERE OR accompanied by BLEEDING. In fact, the cramping was how I knew I was pregnant! :) Bests to you and your little ones!

Thank you Ashley! Ive been so worried cuz this is so not normal, tried to do research but nothing really helping me so I figured Id give it a shot and ask..

Hi gals - I'm 9 weeks and two days and can report that I had period like cramping in the early stages of pregnany - around week three (before my period was even due) and this continued up to about week 6 - then things seemed to settle and the cramping turned to more a tense stretching in the uterus area. This continues and now just comes and goes - if I get up too quickly I get sharper pains on my side but as as I soon as stop moving - the pain disappears. My midwife a__sures me this is normal - my uterus is expanding and the cramping and stretching I am experiencing is round ligament pain - my abdominal area is preparing for a growing baby. If I experience discomfort - I take a break, take some slow breaths and readjust - obviously I've moved to quickly or something...hope this helps (oh I've had no bleeding whatsoever). I have a third u/s on September 23rd so really looking forward to seeing baby!

I had unprotected s_x a week ago during ovulation. Today I have started light cramping and slight bleeding. My period isn't due until the 21st. Is my period coming really early or could I be pregnant?

Ladies, I am so scared! I've been experiencing craming, sore nipples, extreme fatigue and an elevated temp for about a week now. I'm supposed to start my period tomorrow, but I don't think it'll come. I've been married for almost 3 months, and am a teacher. Are these symptoms of pregnancy or just PMS?

Hi Beth, good to hear from you! I am about 9 weeks now and the naseua hit me at about 7 weeks!!!!!! I still am having pain in my uterus area but the dr says he thinks it's just stretching (he says it gets worse with each pregnancy) , I'm having an ultrasound wed. just to make sure. My bbs are screaming right along with yours! LOL Pain pain pain! If you do get naseua or vomiting ask your dr about vitaman B6. My dr gave me a prenatal, for the first three months, called PremesisRX and it has helped me so much! Thank the Lord for creating B6! Glad your back, let me know how everything goes!

I am 4 weeks(just got a positive test..actually TWO! yesterday) and have been having slight cramping probably since I conceived. I thought I was getting my period, then when my test was positive I thought maybe I was already losing the baby. This site helped ease my worries as I couldn't call my doc until today. I still haven't talked to her, but am not worried. I am still just in shock that I am pregnant. It was the first month we tried!

Ashley- I too am a teacher and experienced identical symptoms. I'd wait a couple of days after your period comes just to be sure and so that you don't get a false negative. However, I would not be surprised if you are pregnant. I am 6 weeks pregnant currently. However, as soon as I got the confirmation that I was pregnant from the drs. pregnancy test I told my principal. Just in case, God forbid, I were to miscarry during school. I'm waiting until tomorrow to tell the rest of the staff. However, I share your fears, it'll mean a sub right during testing for the end of the year. Best of luck to you. Keep me posted.

Heather- It's great to hear back from you. I just got back from my first ob appointment today. My due date has been moved to May 5th. I was able to see the baby although it didn't really look like much, but it was there! My husband was with me and it was pretty exciting. I am still feeling pretty good (knock on wood) however week seven starts in a couple of days. The measurement said I was week 7, 2 days. However my calculations say week 6, 4 days. The dr. is going with my calculations for now. So,...we'll see. My BBs are still screaming too. Not sure there's a whole lot I can do about that! Glad to know I'm not alone.

I was expecting my period today, but all I got was more cramping, tender nips and a neg pregnancy test. Did I test too early? The test I took said it could detect hCG even the first day of a missed period! False advertising!!! I'm so anxious to know I don't know how I can stand it. Do I wait a few more days and then take another test or just chalk it up to a "late period" with terrible PMS?!

Me again... quick update... I took another hpt and there was a faint second line. My husband saw it too and freaked out. He wanted to know how soon I could retest and have it be 100% accurate. Any thoughts?

Beth - September 12

Ashley, Sometimes you have to be careful of the advertising. My husband is a physician and forced me to wait two days after my missed period to test, so when it came out + there were definitely no questions about it. The box on the test I took also said that even if the line is faint as long as it is there you're pregnant. It sounds like you are based on what you've written. Unless you can expect to be late I would venture your +. Test again on Wednesday (tomorrow too if you can't wait)-but Wed. should be a pretty sure sign that you are if you're not late. Every day your levels go up and can give a more accurate reading. Good luck! Keep me posted!!

Its me again with another question haha. Ok, so as you know I had my period Sept 15-20th... and then again this strange period on the 6th-10th... What if I start my period again around the real time, should I just ignore this or test after periods over and what if I dont start again, should I just think of this as an early period or should I be concerned?? I know this is silly, but Ive never been pregnent, Im 23, and I really dont have anyone to talk to about this except my bf and I dont want to mention this to him until I know something cuz I dont want him to be worried or anything ya know? By the way before him and I got together I didnt sleep with anyone for approx. 5 years, for saftey sake too many STDs out there. My sis says I could be more fertile than normal people, is that true? I told her she was silly but she said maybe I am cuz I havent been with anyone in so long... I dont know Im new to all of this! This site is a real help for people like me.

Not having s_x for five years should make you more fertile. You can only get pregnant once a month and that is during ovulation. If you have a 28 day cycle ( count the day of your first period until the day of you next period) if it's 28days then you should have ovulated 14days before your next period. If you are having a heavy/normal flow then I would think that you are probably not pregnant. I kept think the samethings as you and when I did get pregnant I missed my period all together. I used to have very weird periods too. I would have a period about 3 weeks out of a month, never really sure what caused it ( I think it was from taking the shot and from the bc pill ). I think it really messed w/my cycle when I stopped taking it. Have you taken any hpts yet? If you are very concerned and think you might be I would just go ahead and take one, if you are pregnant I don't imagine your period would give you false reading b/c if you are you will have the hcg hormorne that should give you a positive. Do you have any symptoms at all. Well I hope I made sense and good luck to you!!!

J - September 13

I meant to say should not make you more fertile.
