Becca, if you see this, can you please email me? I really would like your advice and since we are very similar in our pregnancies it would be very helpful. If you don't mind emailing with me please let me know and I will post my email address. Thank you :)

I am trying to fall pregnant, even thought i am 21 it was the doctors orders! Don't know about America but in Australia hospitals are very quick - I had 2 emergency operations and I got one ovary removed due to tortion. My question is, I have had brown spotting for one day and I was due for my monthlies three days ago. My cycle is exactly 29 days on the clock. I have been experiencing cramps, but HIGER UP in my abdomen. I will go for a pg test on Friday if my "period" does not get any heavier, as they are usually very heavy and painful. Is it possible to get a different type of cramping in early pregnancy? usually i get it low down and spread across my ab (you all know what its like!) but today it is only mild and higher up and deeper in. Is that possible?

i feel much better after reading all of your postings. i'm 5 wks and 5 days, and my co-worker has suffered 2 miscarriages. i was complaining today that i was having back aches and abdominal cramps. she got that worried face and told me to call my doctor. my appointment with the doctor is next monday, but today she said to see her this thursday. i'm not bleeding, it's just those cramps and i don't even know if they're heart burn. but i'm really glad i read your postings, i feel much better now!!!!

I am 5 weeks today after 8 months of trying. Hurrah! So excited and nervous and paranoid!! I wrote down how I was feeling everyday since ovulating so I could spot any changes.
this is what I had from about 2-3DPO onwards, lots of CM, cramps, like someone was poking me, lots of hot flushes and sore b___bs - all this happened way before My period was due so I had an inkling that this time it had worked. Now I am getting cramps pains a bit like period pains and the poking thing still and really, really, really sore b___bs. Good luck Everyone!!

I'm not sure iof it is normal, from the things I have bben reading it sounds normal. It's my understanding that cramping is caused byt he uterus expanding. I am 4wks and have been experiencing crampingo n my lwr right side, and lwr left backside, as of yesterday, which is 19dpo I have had intermittent spotting. It is brown in colour and if I was not looking I may not have noticed it. I am hoping this is normal. My Dr would not check the HCG levels in my urine to help rule out ectopic pregnancy. Has anyone experineced this?

I am 5 weeks and have had cramping on the lower sides....last week it was the left, this week the right. I have been getting shoulder pains which when I looked it up online, coupled with cramping sounds like ectopic pregnancy. I just called the Dr. too...we'll see what he says. I think everyone is paranoid the first few weeks and there is so much information out there to scare the hell out of ya.

Have been experiencing menstrual like cramps for a few days - a week before my period is due. Also been feeling sick on and off. Too early to test yet, but could I be pregnant?

Hi ladies. Well after reading Marie's posting today, I wanted to write and see what she found out about the cramping/backaches. I work in an office setting where I am at my desk pretty much all day, except when I get up to go pee or take break/lunch. So I wasn't sure if my backache is from sitting to long or not. It seems to feel better since I put a folded up blanket behind my back for support. But I am still noticing an occa__sional pain on my left side which has gotten better over time. Anyhow, it feels like it's right on my left hip bone. The last time I went pee, I noticed it when I went to sit down. I'm hoping and praying nothing is wrong and don't want to call the doctor unless it's necessary. I planned on watching things and see if it persists tomorrow. If so I planned on calling then. Please respond if this has happened to you.

Dori, if the pain is throbbing and similar to that of a sporting st_tch, go to the doctor. I had the same thing on my right side. I only had it when i was lying down then it got so bad It all seemed like a dream and i wanted to die. Turns out my ovary had twisted and they had to remove it. It was due to prolonged stress, so please, TAKE IT EASY.... The same thing happend on the other side and they managed to save it. By the way i ended up getting my monthlies... better luck next month.

To Tara-Marie,
Thanks for the response. The one thing I forgot to mention was that I am actually 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant. Sorry, that was a "small" detail I forgot to mention. MY BAD, :o) But I am happy to say that the cramping/pain has gone away in my left side and back. And as soon as I sat down at my desk this morning I put the blanket back behine my back so I can prevent the backache. Let's hope those pains stay away. This is my first pregnancy and I am extremly nervous.

Dori, I think its all normal. I too have been gettin lower cramping pains in my right and left side. And tbh sometimes its trapped lol. But im 9 weeks pregnant now and still getting these pains though they are dying down alot. I spend all day by a computer too and my back feels terrible. Also try raising your feet alittle maybe put them on a book or something. Dont know why but this helped me lol. Good luck

Amy, That is very re-a__suring to hear that you are going through the same thing and also that the pains are dying down. As I said this is my first time being pregnant and like a lot of other people every little twitch, ache or pian makes me nervous. But chatting with everyone here has been a huge help! Thanks for all the great rea__surance.
