I'm soooooooooo happy that i found this wonderful site. Last week I found out I was pregant (4wks).I have been getting cramps on my left and right sides aswell. This is a very scary time for me due to going into labour at 6months pregant last year in October and giving birth to a baby boy who died after 3hrs.Im glad to read that cramping is common. My prayers go out to all and fingers cross I go full term this time.I' m sure you'll be seeing me name often as is a great support system for my many thoughts and fears thanks girls!

Tiffany, if you have been trying to fall pregant and you have missed your period I think you should do a test.1 week before my period was due i felt a bit off and then i missed my period and then i got the most wonderful news that i was pregant.Good luck because you could be pregant!

Is it normal to have a lower/total backache early in pregnancy? I'm only 6 weeks and my back is really bothering me.

You sound just like me 10 weeks ago! I was cramping the entire first trimester, it went away at about week 13/14, around that time you may also wake up one morning with round ligament pulling, in the lower uterus/groin area and IT HURTS, but good news is it will only last about 24 hours! So don't panic! I am very small also, and was showing from 5 weeks, which is when my biggest pair of pants no longer fit and I had to purchase my first maternity pants. I gained 13 pounds in my first trimester and it was all in my stomach. From the back you had no idea I was pregnant. Even now, at 16 weeks I've put on a little weight in the face, and the weight I gained in my belly has shifted a little to my entire mid section, but it is still mostly in the front. Just to give you a heads up, depending on how your DR. feels about pregnancy and weight gain, he may think you are putting on too much weight..Don't listen to him! if you are healthy and are eatting healthy it will even out. You are suppose to gain 1 lb a week in you second trimester, and I haven't put on anything yet. Don't worry about your weight, unless you seriously have a reason to. If you plan on b___st feeding you will burn 500 calories doing that alone. Not to mention all those walks you will want to take with your new baby! So enjoy your pregnancy, it is the only time everyone will be focused on YOU!

Beth-We're kinda hit or miss here, huh?! I teach in a charter school in Cleveland Ohio, Kindergarten. I'm in my 17th week and will find out the s_x of our baby on the 23rd of this month. My husband's pretty sure we're having a girl and his mother keeps suggesting the name "Kay-Alice". Just doesn't sit well with me. Sounds like a fertility drug, doesn't it?! Husband's Aunt and female cousin have shut us out of their lives in order to hurt us because we got married and pregnant before the cousin did. It was stressing me out for awhile, but there's not much I can do about what others think about me. Same situation with the behavior kid in my room (there's always one, isn't there?!) Have to jump through the hoops to get him out, but doubt he's going anywhere. His mom finally concented to having him checked out by a Dr. for his behavior, but keeps rescheduling the IAT meetings! You probably know by now what you're having, right? I'm curious. Are the 3 and 4D sonograms worth it? The sonograms we've had have been less than convincing that there's anything in there except for a blizzard and a scratchy sounding microphone! Hang in there!

Ashley, Your right this sight is kind of hit or miss for us. As for what we're having, we still don't know. The baby is not cooperating but I plan to keep checking until I find out! I'm in my 20th week right now and have had showers of luck at school. My devil child got kicked out of our school (turns out he didn't live in our area). We were just about to have his SST less than a week before we found out he wasn't supposed to be at our school in the first place. What a relief, and how the dynamics in my cla__sroom have certainly changed. Who knew 1st graders could be so tough? Now I'm dealing with little "thieves" in my cla__sroom. Oh, it never ends. This is my last week of school and then we get 3 weeks off. That is the one thing I like about teaching in LA Unified, except that we don't get out until June 23rd, so we go late --As for the 3D/4D ultra sound I'd have to admit the pictures are definitely better. When my husband uses the regular machine I have a difficult time seeing things. I mean, I know I'm seeing the baby but I don't know what it is specifically that I'm looking at. --I can't believe the drama that is going on in your family. How petty of the aunt and cousin. I mean, come on, since when was it a compet_tion? I just can't believe they can't be truly be happy for you and your husband. They seem very insincere. -If you want to email in a less public forum, let me know and I can post my yahoo account email address so that maybe it won't be so hit and miss. -I almost forgot, my stull went well, but I've been pretty sick with a bad cough and it's been tough since we can't really take much. Finally, I"m getting over it. Talk to you soon.

Hello ladies...I am currently 18 weeks pregnant and had a lot of cramping (like period cramps) in the beginning up until about 10 weeks. Everyhting was fine though and it was just my uterus adjusting to it's new room mate :)
