I'm 6 weeks - today experiencing awful period like pains and lower back pain. No longer feel nauseus as I have for last 2 weeks. No bleeding (as yet) I have 2 sons and had a m/c between them at 12 weeks. I'm scared out of my mind....

I'm on my fourth baby and have a mix of boys and girl. I have had cramping only with baby girl and apparently this is quite common as there can be an overdose of female hormones. Could be an old-wives tale though! Period-like cramps are perfectly normal in pregnancy I believe.

I am four weeks along. I took three hpt's and two out of three were +. I experienced the cramping thinking that I was menstrating, but I wasn't. It's been a week since I was suppose to start, and I've never been late. I have no other symptoms than the abdominal cramping. Any one else lacking signs?

Hi KLarson, The best thing to do is make an appointment with your doc. My hpt was also positive and my doc said I was exactly 4weeks 3 days so he was able to see the pregnancy with a scan. Believe me it takes a lot of pressure off if you just go and find out for sure. Good luck! PS: My symptoms were cramping but no period and tender b___st but they always are at that time. I wouldn't have known except that my period never arrived.

It is very normal to experience cramping during the first couple of weeks during pregnancy. I experienced the same thing with both of my boys and when I was pregnant for the first time it was a real concern but the doctor said it is very normal and all my friends experience the same thing. It almost feels like your period will come on at any moment.

Has any of you gotten heartburn?

It is my understanding that cramping is pretty normal. I found a lot of my cramping has been due to gas pains, constipation and indigestion. I have never had any of those problems in the past...but since I have been pregnant, I have experienced all of these symptoms at one time or another. I am 10 weeks along right now and I'm beginning to feel much better. (I found that just a little bit of prune juice each day helps with regularity.) Just keep in mind that some cramping may be due to those types of problems. Also, there are many of us on here who mention how afraid we are of miscarriage. I was the same way. I had myself scared to death reading some people's miscarriage stories. Well, after a couple of weeks of that...I stopped reading anything that began discussing that issue. I realize there is a chance it can happen. But, for my sanity, I decided not to even think about it. The last several weeks have been wonderful. I have just thought about my wonderful baby on the way, instead of worrying about the million things that can go wrong. It really worked for me to stop reading things that scared me. Best of luck to all of you!

During my pregnancy with my son the first thing i remember was popping MIDOL for 2 weeks like darn when is my period going to come, these cramps are aweful! The cramps continued through my pregnancy and actually I think the braxton hicks contractions in later pregnancy resemble the cramping only stronger and less consistant. My first warning sign that I may be pregnant again, is this familiar cramping. It's normal, and you'll remember the feeling for the next time.

other than cramping which i'm only getting a little (like a mild perion pain) is it normal to get some brown mucasy spotting. I am about 4 weeks

Hi ya girls.. Cramping is normal through pregnancy, but please, please if it gets worse or continues see your DR.. I had cramping on and off and my DR who is a waste of time, kept saying yes it's normal.. I was 12 wks and had a missed miscarriage, the baby died at 8.5 wks.. I don't want to scare you but never take things for granted and never think it's normal.. and never think going to the DR about these things are stupid.. it is NEVER STUPID.. good luck girls
