Hi girls – I’m still feeling bad. :-[ Thanks for the suggestions, but nothing really works for me. I just think my body is super sensitive. I tried the Sea Bands during my 1st pregnancy and they didn't give me any relief. I was placed on Zofran with my 1st and 2nd pregnancies because I couldn't keep any food down. I may ask for it again. I'll talk to my OB on Friday. We'll have a sono and then the doctor's visit at 8:00 am (EST) on Friday (1/29). I'm exhausted and don't know how I'll make it to then. For the girls with the Midwives - will you deliver at a hospital, at home or at a birthing center?

Lia: I'm so sorry to hear that you're still feeling horrible. With my first two pregnancies I was also put on Zofran but with this one, it hasn't become bad enough that I have needed to call my midwife. I know that every pregnancy is different but it has me a little worried because usually I get so sick. As far as my delivery goes, as long as everything goes well, I plan to deliver in a birthing center.

The hungry but nothing seems good fits me right now. I just watched my son eat a cupcake thinking wow that looks good, smells good but at the same time my stomach was churning with nausea. I must have gone to the fridge about seven times wanting something but nothing seems good. I have found that sweet stuff really sticks with me. Like if I have something just the slightest sweet I feel like I have eaten too much candy and want to barf. Weird.

Rosenow- You are about 8 weeks right? I am just curious as to who is sending you for the ultrasound? Isn't too early for genetic testing at this point? I can't remember and just curious. I do remember that with DS I was 12 weeks before I had my first ultrasound.

first timer: we are not having an ultra sound as far as I know just a sono. that is what i meant by meating the baby and hearing the heartbeat :o)

Oh...I thought a sonogram and ultasound were the same thing...shows what I know

rosenow - January 27

maybe they are. I am not sure. The secretary told me that he would come in with this little box so that I could hear the heartbeat. I think after he listens he will tell us when we get to have an ultrasound. I think they wait till 13 weeks but I am not sure.

"Is there a difference between an ultrasound and a sonogram? Sonogram and ultrasound are two terms that are often used interchangeably. The term Sonogram refers to an ultrasound examination. Ultrasound all by itself refers to the technology used during a sonogram, but there are several other uses for ultrasound technology. When you are pregnant, and you are talking about ultrasounds, more often than not, you are talking about sonograms."

Rosenow - 'Little Box' is most likely a fetal doppler. "Most providers will listen to the fetal heartbeat at each prenatal visit, beginning at approximately 10 weeks' gestation."

rosenow - January 27

ahh there we go. So I am going in for a fetal doppler thingy lol. You would think that I would be more up on the terms but I fail in the respect lol. Thanks for the info Lia :o)

enow, i had no clue either. i thought sonogram was just listening too until i looked it up on the internet after seeing your posts ! you're big day tomorrow...you must be so excited. i had my last appt. with my fertility doc. today so no more ultrasounds for me after today until the big one. now i'll have normal monthly appts. again. baby is now 19.5 mm now and heartbeat was strong. the baby only needed to be 17 or 18 to be on track so that's a relief....

rosenow - January 27

Kearly that is wonderful news!! How far allong are you and when did you have your ultra sound? Should i ask for one just because I am dying to seee the little person.

first-timer - January 27

Rosenow: Just to let you know I couldn't hear my DS heart beat with doppler until I was four months, they tried at 3 months but nothing. My midwife said it was really hard at that stage because they are too little and lots of protection still. I just wanted to let you know my experience just so you are not worried or disappointed. You may be lucky too and hear it.

rosenow - January 27

i sure hope i get too. what will they do if they cannot hear it? will i then get an ultrasouns or is 8 weeks still too eearly. should i ask for bloodwork to check the hcg levels? i just want reasurance that everything is ok. i have read too many stories on this website about people finding out the baby has not been growing! I feel wonderful and fine but i just want that added a__surance that things are ok.

Mandersmm - January 27

Hi ladies. hope everyone is doing well. rosenow: good luck at your appointment tomorrow :) 8 weeks might be a little too early to hear the heartbeat but if you're really nervous about it, they might send you for an ultrasound. Especially if there is a question about your due date.

rosenow - January 28

Girls. Thanks for letting me know that we might not hear it. You saved me a huge overreaction. I have been so excited to hear it now I am sure it will just be a regular appointment. I read that you have to be about 12 weeks to hear it, or exeptionally thin, which I am not :o) Honestly you have no idea what a heartache you saved me. I hate not knowing things, you can save yourself so much pain by just being educated on a subject. Here I thought I had over researched everything. Just goes to show you can't know too much lol have a wonderful day
