Hello Ladies, I first posted on May 20th if you want to scroll up and get some history. I just wanted to inform you that I had all of these strange hcg readings also, we made it all the way to 18 weeks. The baby was healthy and normal and would have been just fine had my water not broke so early. The Doctors believe it was just bad luck. So please keep your faith...all these funcky HCG's can result in a perfect baby. Praying for all of you, Steph

Babymagic - our stories are so similar! I am going in today (Friday) for another hcg - I'll keep you posted and you do the same. My doctors are puzzled as well.

Hello! My husband and I tried for 8 months to get pregnant. I was about a week late and was feeling very mild tingling pain (no blood) and I took a hpt and it was positive! I couldn't believe it! I took another hpt and it was also positive! Went to the Dr that next Monday and she did a pelvic exam. She saw a very small amout of pink discharge but I still have not bled or have any pain. I did the blood test that day and my levels were around 3500. Waited 2 days and blood test again and it only went up too 3750. I am going back next week for another blood test to check levels again. Still no cramping or blood. Is there any hope? Tears are falling every second....

This site is a bright spot in an otherwise confusing and scary time for me. It nice to hear that I'm not the only one. I am hoping that there is some hope for those of us who aren't doubling our HCG numbers. I am 27-discovered I was pregnant on 8/4/05 with a HPT. On 8/23/05 I had some light spotting. Called doc and she said it was problably from intercourse. Had more bleeding next day and they had me come in for an HCG-it was around 4300. Still bleeding a little the next day and they did an ultrasound. They found a sac but no heartbeat and said it was around five weeks gest. This doesn't make sense with my est LMP so they weren't very hopeful. I had another HCG test on 8/26 but my levels have only increased to 4900. I am still spotting. I have another appointment on 8/29 and my husband and I are not sure how to feel. We have a healthy 3 year old son. I want to hope but I also don't want to get my hopes up too high.

My hcg was up to 2456 on 8/26, which means it doubled in four days not two, which according to some sites is okay. Still hanging in there. Went again this morning for another count - don't have results yet. As long as still progressing, doc is going to schedule an u/s. Hopeful this will turn out as a success, not only for me, but for all of you out there in the same waiting phase.

I had a positive home test two weeks ago. Last week, two blood tests, on Tues and Thurs. Levels on Tues were 13,000, then 18,000 on Thurs. It didn't double, but my progesterone increased. Have an ultrasound this week on Thurs, and I'm keeping my hopes up. But don't those levels seem awfully high for this early?

My count is up to 3347 as of today. I am going in for an u/s on 8/31. I will feel so much better after that - knowing something one way or the other (hopefully)

I DONT KNOW

U/S on 9/1 indicated an ectopic pregnancy, which was removed on 9/2. After the initial shock, I really feel okay - after suffering so many miscarriages, I guess in a way I'm getting numb to it - but the ectopic was a surprise to me and the doctor - since it's not a problem I've had before. Although I'd like to tell all of you that a count that doesn't double is not a cause for concern - it really is. Please proceed with caution and good luck to all of you.

To everyone, I have read these stories and so thankful I found them. I am so sorry to those that have lost babies. I have five healthy children, but I am going through the same thing that a lot of you are. I just want to tell my story, but I will tell those of you that are still hanging on, DO NOT GIVE UP. Do not let them give you anything to end your pregnancy or do a D&C until there is certain proof that it is over. I am blessed to have a wonderful doctor, who by morals refused to do anything on my case until he was 100% sure. At supposed 6 weeks, my hcg levels started to rise, 2000-2600.. 3 days later I got a call from the nurse saying that I would miscarry by the weekend, I didn't. 5 days later went back, US showed an empty sac, and the doctor, because of fallen hcg levels, expected a miscarriage of an incomple placenta and sac. He refused to do anything untill he knew, but expected to plan a D&C the next week because he believed there would be nothing there. A week later I watched as the tech did the ultrasound and talked myself out of everything I saw. When the doctor came in he explained that the unexplained had happened. Still falling slowly hcg levels, but there was a fetal pole and heartbeat. measured 5 weeks 3 days. Blood work done again, went from 2300-3700, not doubling, but unexplaingly after consistant falling, was rising and within normal range. The next week, There was a baby measuring 7 weeks 3 days, a slowly growing sac, but a healthy heartbeat of 160, the week before124. He says he can not explain this medically, but he has never seen anything like this, but knows that God is the one in control. God bless each of you and I will be praying. I will keep in touch.

Hi all I am new to this site. This is my third pregnancy (previous 2 missed miscarrages) so very nervous. Had early scan at 7 weeks 2 sacs were detected one with the yolk but no embro was detected yet and the other was empty. I am apros 7 wks preg sac with something in it was about size of 5 weeks and a few days. No heartbeat. They did my hormone levels 28,000 then 3 days later they have dropped to 25,000. The nurse tell me I will defiantely miscarry again, but reading the internet for imformation, it looks like if two babys/sacs are detected and one is looking like it wont continue this could be the reason for my drop in levels. I am booked in for a scan this Friday, but have already given up hope. I have no cramping no bleeding, but very little pregnancy symtoms, no real moring sickness I have sore b___bs but not as sore as they have been in previous pregnancies. Please can anyone advise if they have been in the same situation? Where 2 sacs were detected but one was empty and irrigular in shape, and their levels dropped. Life can be very cruel sometimes, they do say say everything happens for a reson, just not sure what this one is, thanks xx

HI, I just found out this week I am pregnant, around about 5 - 6 weeks. They did my first blood test and it came back that it was a low HCG but consistant with only being around 5 weeks. The second test two days later came back and it had only moved 1! I have no spotting or bleeing, a little bit of cramping still. Has anyone had similar situation? I have to go for another test in two more days to see if the levels have moved. Any info would be great? I want to try and stay positive!

Hi James, what was your reading? I would try not too worry too much about your HCG just yet, I have been trying to do lots of research and there are so many mixed message about HSG levels, some say they are only a guide, wait for your next test and finally wait for your scan. Since I last posted I have had 2 more tests for my hsg levels, it dropped on one occa__sion by 3,000 to 25,900 then a couple of days ago it had gone back up but ony by a 1,000, the doctors are very confused as am I. I have had 2 scans to date (reason for this is my 2 previous misscarrages they are monitoring me closely), but as yet they have both been too early to detect a heart beat, I have another one booked for 10 days time so have to wait until then. I know its easier said than done but try and relax and try not to read too much into your reading, from what I can gather there is a concern when they are dropping dramatically, what other symtoms do you have, do you feel pregnant? good luck keep me posted on your results, xx
