OK - this has probably been posted a million times, and if so, I am sorry...
So, this is my first pregnancy. It came as a surprise to my husband and I. We decided that I would go off the pill, and we weren't going to actively try to have a baby - more stop actively trying not to....I applied for a job on a whim, and found out 2 weeks later that I got it, so I immediately went back on the pill. Last week, when I didn't get my period, I ran out & bought a pregnancy test - 2 actually....got a blue line immediately on both of them. So, I went to the dr, and sure as h__l, I'm pregnant. They're estimating about 8 weeks or so.
Now, I've been told that women who get pregnant the way I did - going off & on the pill very quickly increase their chances of having multiples. My doctor does not take HCG levels, unless you specifically request them. I went a few days ago for my initial OB appointment, but don't go back until the end of the month for my first ultrasound. How do I know that everything I'm feeling is normal & that everything is OK if I'm not getting those numbers?
I haven't had any sickness - which is surprising, because I can usually puke at the drop of a hat. I have these little 10 second bouts of nausea, but that's it. Other than that, my br___ts were EXTREMELY tender...that's kind of going away, and i'm bloated...like I look like I'm about 5 months already when I'm still in my first trimester. I also have a belly ache almost all of the time. Other than that, the only other "normal" symptom is constipation. I also already have cravings - mostly just water with lemon & any food I see - if I see it, I want it. I'm eating sweets a lot more than ever - I've never been a sweets eater, and I'm a little worried eating them now, because I'm hypoglycemic. Are these feelings normal?
One more question - would you recommend changing doctors to someone who does take regular HCG levels?
