think of your baby growing in a flexable sack that kinda moves with him. so if you lie on your left side the uterus falls to the left like a big ballon filled with water and a baby!

As your baby grows it will take up most of the room in the middle portion of your body, where you would think your stomach would be. Your uterus grows and stretches and makes all your middle body organs "move over". So, you will carry "in the middle".
