Bras

Avenue has good bras sometimes. If you have Ross Dress for Less in your area, try them. They get lots of bras with big cups and small bands. I saw some there the other day that were a 38DDD with molded foam cups. Ross bras are usually four to six dollars, so if you get one and hate it later, it's no big loss.

Sarah, I am a DD to begin with, not a D. And while I have no problems with Target clothes, I don't think cheap bras are comfy at all. Yes, I have looked at Ross, TJ Maxx and Marshalls. It's hit or miss. I did find 2 Maidenfroms that were slightly bigger DDs than I have which I am wearing now. Yep, $5 each. Sweet. I have yet to find anything bigger but I always look when I go there.

Yeah, I found one! Lane Bryant has great bras. I ended up with a 40DDD. Their band size seems to run small. They had plenty in different colors. I saw a few in larger cupsizes too.. might need them in a few months. The one I got was $34. Has the molded cups I want and plunges low, will not be a problem with low cut tops. The lady told me they have their lingerie sale in mid december.

You can buy band extenders at any sewing store, or even in the fabric department at Walmart. When I was pregnant I bought some instead of buying bigger bras. Sometimes if the band is a little bigger, the cups fit better.

i was told no underwire during pregnancy that is why all maternity bras here in aus have no underwire..

Yeah, that "no underwire" thing was probably told to you by a male who's never had to deal with excessively large mammaries. It also can potentially damage the milk ducts - so it's more of a warning for mamas who intend to b___stfeed.

I'll try the bra extenders when they get a little bigger, but I really think I'll need a bigger cup down the road to avoid spillage. As for the underwire, yeah, thats really more with b___stfeeding. It can clog ducts. I don't intend to b___stfeed, so it's not an issue for me. But my thinking with that is if the bra fits correctly, if the wires sit against your chest, not dig into your b___bs, it is less likley to happen. I think some women just have to take that risk. If I did b___stfeed, I'd probably wear underwire if I was walking around a lot.

The bra extenders were a great help to me at first, but you're right in thinking you'll need a bigger cup towards the end of your pregnancy.

I am normally a 36DD, but I was soon out of my regular bras as I was overflowing. I found a great bra and ended up going to a size 38DDD - it is not a molded cup like you mentioned, but it does help to reduce the size of the ta ta a bit. Not very cutsie, but comfortable straps and great support. Heres a website - http://www.balicompany.com/styles/detail.jsp?styleNumber=3562&displayBy=Silhouette&featureName=Minimizer&styleCategory=bra.....good luck!

Link won't work for the Bali Bra. What is the name and or/style number? Did you find it in a store? I was at a Bali outlet but they did not have molded cups in DDD.

Jill, I can so relate to your issue! I was a 36 DDD before getting pregnant and I am overflowing the cups on my DDD bras! My cup runneth over to say the least. I prefer the molded cups as well. I found a bra that is a 38DDD that fits O.K., but gives me cone shaped b___bs that are less than attractive to say the least. When I got married I found a long line strapless bra at www.herroom.com. They have a large selection of bigger cupped bras. You might want to try there. I too have tried several stores and have had no luck. I don't need a larger band size, just some monster size cups. Good luck! :) I am going to have to do some on-line shopping too!

Welcome to the "I have gi-normous basongas" club :) My hubby said if mine get any bigger, I will fall over, even with my big a__s to balance me :)

Just a word to those experiencing the ginormous mammaries...I went from a 32 B to a 32 F during my pregnancy...I have been exclusively b___stfeeding for the last 3 months, and am back down to a 32 D, *almost* a C! Yay me!!!!
