id say it still depends on your body. dont get your hope up on getting pregnant straight away. but personally i wouldnt think it should be too long but thats only my personal opinion.

i was on the shot for 5 years, and ive been off of it for a few months now. ive been trying to have a baby for 4 months now,the only symptom that ive had is white milky discharge. i dont know if its a sign of being pregnant, or from being off the shot. i have no idea what to think. any ideas?

It can take several months to start ovulating after five years on depo. If you want to watch the progress, start BBT temperature charting.

I've been on depo on and off for 16 years i have a 16 year old, 10, and 8. When I got pregnant with my 10 year old I missed by shot by 1 day and got pregnant also with my 8 year old missed it by a week, I missed it again by 6 days and now im pregnant and not knowing how far along i am cause i do not get a period.

Great feedback, rudy. I don;t think the same is true for ever woman, but your system certainly rebounds in a hurry. That's one unplanned pregnancy every four years while on Depo.

Hello. I've been reading everyone's situations but mine seems to be a little different. I stared depo 2 years ago, two days after the birth of my daughter. The entire time, I've been experiencing bleeding. and I dont mean spotting. I've had heavy bleeding like a normal period. The frequency isnt regular but its to the point i have to always wear a pad just in case. After talking to my doctor, they a__sured me nothing was wrong and it may just be how my body reacts to it. I've recently decided to stop the depo because my boyfriend and i want another baby. My next shot is due in 9 days. Has anyone who have experienced heavy bleeding through out their time on depo had a longer or shorter delay in when they've gotten pregnant?

jessica9910 - September 10

Right as i was supposed to get the shot again, but then didnt.

I am a little confused you were suppose to start your period when you next shot was due or you did you start your period when your next shot was due?

I guess I am what you can consider one of the lucky ones. I have been on the depo shot for about three years. I had my last shot on July 14, 2011 decided not to go back for my next which should have been October 6, 2011. I got put on the patch, stayed on it for a week and my fiance decided we would try for a baby. I have been reading all of you all different body reactions and thought wow this could take a long time. So basically I have been off the shot for two weeks and I started my period last night. It is light, but its there and I am having the normal cramping the way I used to before my shot. I have read some women don't start back their period for a couple of months so.... Do you guys think this means I will become pregant faster?
