I was on depo for almost a year and got off just 6 months ago and just started my period a few weeks ago went off now i am spotting and i might be pregnant so i think that it all depends on the way your body function for some it takes longer and for some it may not take long at all so i think once you come on your period then it will be easier to get pergnant so just keep on trying and your get there....Good luck

Im still trying after being off for over a year. I'm now taking b-Control to try to make it happen. I have a 13 and 9 yr old. I took depo between the two. It only took 6mths and I was pregnant first time out. Maybe Im just to old 34?

I'm sorry to hear about everyone’s misfortunes with Depo but I think that everyone’s experiences are different. I started taking the shot 3 years ago to get rid of my horrible periods and it did the job wonderfully! Since then my husband and I decided that we would like to add to our family and so I missed my shot date May 14th and am now 2 months pregnant. Everyone is different! Just take your calcium if you are taking Depo!

I want to know, i just stopped the depo after being on it for 2 years, my last shot was due jun 17 and i didnt go.i just recently got off and on spotting and a slightly heavier almost period but the blood was brown. i read that miscarriages sometimes happen right away before you even know your pregnant and can be like brown blood. Did i have a miscarriage? was the spotting a sign of pregnancy or just a fluke of the depo? someone please help,

I was on the "SHOT" and it has now been almost 3 years and still not pregnant, I only took the shot twice and then started the pill for about two months, still no luck trying to concieve for the past year and a half. But for some reason this month I've been feeling tired and sleeping alot I took a p/t and came back neg my period came on two weeks after I took p/t but still feeling the same and I can't take certain smells before I couldn't take the smell of chicken being fried or the smell of dish detergent, so hopefully I am even though my period did come on and the p/t said neg.

Terrin- I think it might be your body cleaning out for your period or you might even be pregnant. About 3 weeks before I found out I was pregnant I had the old blood for about a week. It turns out I was a 1 week pregnant but you see for other medical reasons I had to take a pregnancy test every week before I took my medications so I had taken 3 test in three weeks, 1 test a week. It minght take time to show up on a home test. My dr said sometimes your body will clean out (old blood) for the baby.

Ladies hope this helps, This is right out of the Depo booklet: Based on the results from a large study done in the United States, of those women who stop using Depo in order to become prenant, about half of those who become pregnant do so in about 10 months after their last injection; about two-thirds of those who become pregnant do so in about 12 months, and about 83% of those who become pregnant do so in about 15 months, and about 93% of those who become pregnant do so in about 18 months after thir last injection. The length of time you use depo has no affect on how long it takes you to become pregnant after you stop using it.
