Okay I've answered a lot of questions about acne b/c my dr prescribed some really good stuff for my face. I know my back has broken out but I didn't know it was that bad. I checked it out in the mirror today and there is some major little bumps going on...never have had that! It almost looks like a rash or something...its really bad and the medicine I have for my face isn't for large area's only spot treatment...anyone have any ideas? Just any body washes that have worked for you...or any weird rashes from being pregnant? Any random crazy ideas would be great!

As far as I know there's nothing that will help the acne on your back during pregnancy. I a__sume you are in your 1st trimester. I had a bit of facial acne before I got pregnant, never had back ance, but in my first trimester it was all over my back. Seems that as soon as I reached my 2nd trimester it went away. It's just your hormones. I'm not trying to be nosey but, what acne medicine are you using for your face. The reason I ask is most acne medication is not proven safe during pregancy. I will say that I've had acne pretty bad for the past 7-8 years and since I've had my baby I get one occasional blemish. I would just be sure to ask your OB if the medication you're using is safe.

Me too!! I Had real bad acne with my first son-on my face and now with this one it is mostly on my back and chest-shoulders too!! It is painful!! I bought one of the exfoliating sponges to help reach my whole back. But my doc said that there is nothing that is safe for treatment during pregnancy bc nothing has been proven one way or the other for acne during pregnancy-so I would be sure that you are suppose to use that med. first. My doc said that good old fashioned soap and water is the only thing to be used.

Well I'm just about 17 weeks so I'm outta my first trimester. My face was really bad until my OB prescribed some spot treatment. He told me that if it got worse he would send me to the Derm. The stuff he gave me I'm a__suming is safe since he prescribed it! And my face has gotten better but my back much worse. And it's not that it's unsightly, it's more that it's very painfull! I went in to talk to my ob today and he is going to send me to the derm because it's bad. I was hoping it would back off by my second tri but no luck only getting worse! :( Still looking for ideas...I'm going to try the exfoliating sponge for my back definitely! Thanks girls!

Livdea-Hi, its really hard for me to keep my face clear and they only way I can is to use clinique wash away...its like a makeup/dirt/oil remover and then to go over that with those olay face towlettes. IM 98% sure clinique is safe to use if ur expecting and they have a similar body wash. Alot of time, women get that acne on their backs bc they think they are reaching it when bathing, but alot of the the time they arent, so the hormones make it worse (my moms a dermatologist). Even if you dont see a dermatologist, you can call a local office and they can suggest bodywashes that you dont need a prescription for. Good luck!

Hey again, livdea. Has it gotten any better during the last couple weeks? .............. I had acne really bad all over my forehead at first, it's FINALLY starting to go away at 18 weeks, but I've starting breaking out really bad over my shoulders and right below the throat, on my chest. I've had a couple breakouts on my back, but nothing as back as my collar bone and just below. I've tried using an exfoliating scrub in the shower, but to no avail.

Still no luck! My back just grosses me out! My face isn't bad any more but my back is so so embarrasing. I don't know what to do! I want to see a derm but I can't afford it right now, I'm trying to save every stinkin penny I have. Though, I'm wondering if maybe it would be worth it...it's that bad! I'm still looking for advice!

I had some "back"ne during my pregnancy. Olay astringent toner with witch hazel really helped. I had hubby put it on my back almost every night. Always ask your pharmacist about stuff you can use, and always tell them you are pregnant if you're not showing! Good luck to all!

My dermatologist said clindamycin is OK but now my forehead is soo bad so I found this random british site acne-advice.com/articles/pregnancy.shtml
and I ordered the mask, tea tree oil and blemish gel. I'llkeep you posted on how it works, fingers crossed! It's all natural so it should be OK but I'm checking w/my dr in 2 wks at my next appointment.

cdiamond-I am not pregnant, but my doctor prescribed me clindamycin and it worked really well. I used it in the months leading up to my wedding and it smoothed out my face and made me glow! I loved it. And I liked that I could apply it in the morning under my makeup(since it was clear and absorbed) Hopefully you girls will find something that worlks as well for you too! good luck!
