Hi my name is sheena and I'm 20 yrs old and is 18 weeks pregnant. I had my first ultrasound done last month and the doctor told me that my baby had fluid around her neck and in her chest .I'm so scared I refused to have the testing done for down syndrome I'm to scared to know. - just want a healthy baby. I thought it was a high risk for a older woman to have a baby with down syndrome want to know if theirs hope for my baby or could their be something wrong with her heart...I'm so stressed! Please someone help me

Shenna I don't know if you believe in God but this is a good time to get to know him if you don't, let me tell you He is a healer and no matter what the doctors say God can do anything if you have faith in Him. Don't worry yourself to much that you cause your baby to have problems. I know it is a hard thing not to worry but find things that you can do to at least take your mind off it for a little while. God Bless You!

Hi hun, my heart sankwhen I read this. I don't mean to scare but did your doctor mention Turner Syndrome?
In 2002 I went for my 18 week scan and doctor saw the same thing. Her heart had stopped beating by the next ultrasound 4 days later.
I really hope that your baby girl makes it and you might want to reconsider testing. There is only a 2% birth rate to Turner Syndrome babies. Downs may be better news. Again I am sorry to hear that you are going through this. I miss my daughter everyday.
