My daughter spits up all the time, so our doctor had us try a different formula. It's Enfamil AR Lipil, which has rice starch added to it, so it thickens in the baby's stomach and not in the bottle. She doesn't spit up with it, but I have a little trouble with it clogging up the nipple. Still, it might be a good one to try for your son.

Is your son on ranitidine for his AR? Mine is 11 weeks old, is on ranitidine and that really helps. He eats 7 ozs every 4 hours and is almost 16 pounds. Maybe some medication would help your son keep formula down?

My 2 month old is on zantac and was eating like that. My gastroenterologist actually told me to put rice cereal in his bottle to keep the reflux down and to reduce his formula intake. The most effective way to do it is 1 tbsp per ounce of formula. My son also sleeps better now, but he is a little chunk too! I use Dr Brown bottles that actually make a y cut nipple specifically for formula and cereal. And my son has never choked on it.
