I have a 4 day old daughter and when I went to change her diaper last night, I noticed a small stringy discharge that had blood in it. Is this normal?

Yes it is. She has your hormones pa__sing through her. Well that is what it sounds like to me. I am not a doctor, so maybe you should contact yours to be sure.

I don't remember my daughter having a discharge like you are discribing. If she doesn't have another, I don't think I would worry about it. But, I would definately ask my doc about it. I agree with TC... it's probably just your hormones pa__sing through.

My girls both had a little blood in their diapers one time when they were a couple of days old. I remember my baby sister having it too.

My daughter didn't have it but my midwife said if she does it's prefectly normal. Like everyone else said; it's just your hormones pa__sing through her.

My daughter didn't have it either, but the doctors told me that if it happened, not to worry unless there was a large amount of blood.

thats what i was told too that it was hormones. my daughter had that when she was a couple days old and was still in the hospital and she was fine. did you also know that the babies can have a little discharge from their nipples as well ( even boys) and that is hormones too.
