Baby Smiling In Sleep

Just wondering...why do you think babies smile in their sleep? Textbooks say it's because of an undeveloped nervous system and that it's just a reflex...I think it's because of good dreams. :) What are your opinions?

I love it when my baby smiles in her sleep. She looks so peaceful and happy. I also think it is good baby dreams! She is just a little over 3 weeks old, and we talk about her dreams every morning. She is getting to where she will smile when we talk to her so it is so much fun. She is the prettiest little girl ever! I am a proud mommy. :)

Awww. :) I have a little girl too. She was born on May 8th, so she is also going on 4 weeks. Her name is Asjani. Good to hear that you enjoy motherhood!!! It is truly rewarding!!! What's strange is that, now that my st_tches have healed...I wouldn't mind having another one...:)

Hi Toya! I agree. My little girl was born May 9th! You can see pictures of her at www.amayajayne.com That is her little website. I think you are the one who gave me advice on baby acne. Anyway if you have any pictures of your little one that you would like to share let us know!

My mum always told me that the reason they smile in their sleep is because they have wind. My baby is almost 4 months and she still does it, they sure do look cute, whatever the reason may be. :o)

Oh okay..you're stephanie. :) You are blessed. Your photos are so adorable! Here are some photos of Asjani. http://public.fotki.com/asjani05 Let's keep in touch about our baby's milestones since their birthdays are so close together. Is she your first baby? Asjani is my first.

Yes she is my first, I love her soooooo much. I enjoy everytime she wakes up at 3 or 5am, and how she is so curious now. She is starting to look at things across the room and follow people. She smiled at me the first time this morning, like she actually realized who I was. It made my heart melt. She is my little sweetie!

Oh la la, that is so sweet!! My little girl has been smiling since she was one week. Not the ga__sy grins either. My nephew smiled the day he was born!! That freaked me. My daughter started laughing(not out loud yet) when she was two weeks. Sometimes she'll be looking out into nothing and laughing her head off and I thank the "spirits" for making my baby happy. It sounds weird even to me because I'm not at all religious but I figure if there's something that's making my little girl happy I'm gonna thank em. :) Even if I can't see them.

My Mom always told me that when a baby smiles in their sleep that they were talking to the angels. I think it is so sweet.

I agree with Shannon. This is what we like to believe.

I LOVE to see my little Makaylee smile and laugh. She's 2 1/2 months old and has been smiling since she was born. My husband and I lost our first child, Joshua, in Feb. of 2004 and Makaylee was born April 8th 2005....I believe, with all my heart, that she's playing with her brother in heaven. Or when she's awake...I know she can see him...it just makes my heart melt to see that beautiful smile.
