Daily Routines For Babies

Just wondering if any of you have any daily routines for your babies...not bathing/storytime type routines, but "school-like" routines for babies. Asjani is really at the point where she wants badly to interact with everything around her and I think it's the opportune time to play hands on games with her. Do you know of any good baby curriculum? The only thing I do with Asjani at home that is routine is devotion. Like, I'll read her a bible story, sing songs, and pray the Lord's prayer with her.

We are really working on baby sign language with Amaya, it is an ongoing thing. We do it at every meal, every time we take a drink, everytime we play, anytime we go outside, etc. I bought a book and have learned many signs and am really shooting for her to learn at least 1 sign before Christmas. We also read all day (usually 3 or 4 books a day) We are also trying really really hard to learn to crawl. We do this almost all day! I hope this has helped a little.

try redleaf press, they have books on how to work with your little one. In addition to signing we are teaching baby math and some other things. Its pretty time consuming but I am hoping she will learn by rote. Kinda like waht you are doing with the Lord's prayer.

Sign language sounds great. I will look into redleaf press...reading is really important to me, so I read to her a lot. A lot of kids now do not know how to read...with all of the advances we've made in this country, you'd think our kids would be able to read. What are your favorite baby's day out activities? Asjani liked the B___terfly Rainforest Exhibit that I took her to at the Museum of Natural History. It also had a squid exhibit and a prehistoric area.

We go to the Zoo, book stores and read the books (alot of them have baby safe and child safe play areas) we go shopping, have pictures made (very cheap at WalMart) and my mom is a teacher so we go to her cla__sroom at least once a week and listen to her read.

My 3 month old cannot do a lot of things yet, but he is very alert and loves to interact. I play pat a cake with him, sing, do peas porridge hot with his feet, If you're happy and you know it. He likes to be read to. He is still kinda cranky when we go out sometimes but the kid loves Walmart. I cannot wait til he gets old enough to appreciate the zoo, and museums. I live in the Cleveland Ohio area and we have a great science museum, natural history and childrens museum. Took him to Walmart to get his Xmas pics taken. He finally smiled for pictures! I was sooo happy! He also likes to watch sesame street and the rugrats(yuck), but they make him happy.

Stephanie, the zoo sounds nice, because Asjani really loved that B___terfly Rainforest! I take her shopping with me as well...she's my buddy when it comes to that. Are you thinking about getting Amaya's ears pierced? To Rachael, yes..Asjani loves patty cake and if you're happy and you know it...She loves nursery rhymes. I've always loved math, so I think I'll teach her baby math. I can't wait until she's old enough for play-doe and finger paints. Oh yeah, I meant to ask, one of my baby books says to try bubbles...have either of you tried b__wing bubbles?

Wow, baby math. I'm not so great at math. I hadn't thought about bubbles, that's a great idea, he would probably love that. Thanks! Hadn't thought about signing either. I better get with it. Babies are so smart they pick stuff up like that very quickly.

Yes, babies pick things up very fast. Asjani will repeat me when I say "dada"...and she will laugh at me if I repeat the sounds she makes. Stephanie, how is Amaya doing with the sign language?

The only thing she is doing is waving bye bye. It is really hard to remember to sign everything you do! lol
