Just have to voice a concern...I woke up this morning with a really bad rash all along my right arm - so I went to the doctor; I figured it was probably just an allergic reaction to something, though I don't know what, but I wanted to make sure it couldn't spread to my baby; doctor agreed that it was most likely an allergic reaction, and prescribed an off-brand version of Benadryl. He said it was safe to take while br___tfeeding, and gave me a very small dosage. (25 mg every 6 hours) The pharmacist, though, said that the manufacturer of the medication recommends against br___tfeeding while taking the medicine, since it does "contaminate" br___t milk - and, one of the side effects is that it can cause your milk to dry up for as long as you take the medication. So, now I'm worried - my daughter will NOT take formula, and I don't have any milk stored. So...hopefully the rash will clear up quickly, and my milk won't be affected.

I would call the doctor back and tell them what the pharmacist said. I had nurses from my ob office tell me I should not take prilosec when I was pregnant, and when I asked my doctor, she said it was fine. 2 other ob/gyn's in the past also told me it was okay while pregnant. I took it the whole time I was pregnant and my son is fine. And my acid reflux was under control.

After 24 hours of being on the medication, my daughter nursed for 45 minutes this morning, and was hungry again less than 2 hours later..and the rash has spread to my other arm. So...not gonna keep taking it. 8^(
