My daughter is 2 months old and she has been drooling alot for the past week or so. Is this normal or does it mean something?

My little man is almost 15 weeks and has been drooling for a while - I asked his pediatrician on Monday if it could be teething starting already and he said more than likely. I guess that they can drool for a couple of months prior to getting their teeth!

Once they start teething, the faucet is on! If your baby gets a skin irritation from the constant drool, use a little bit of vaseline.

Funny - just last week (8-9 weeks) my son started drooling quite a bit. I looked it up and the average age to start drooling is 14 weeks but it can start earlier. Not too far off from that, I guess. But he is also beginning to imitate us a bit and sticking out his tongue is one of the things he does... So I figured that might be part of it too! I'd drool if I stuck my tongue out all the time!

Yes, its very normal. I carry with me where ever I go a bunch if cloth bibs which he wears one all the time. It is only recent by 8 months that he does not drool as much. Dr. says its from teething which the process began since 2 months of age . He's 8 months now but no teeth yet. He gets a fever now and then. But I also heard that babies drool because they have no teeth to prevent it from falling out of the mouth.

My daughter started at 3 months, we've gone through boxes and boxes of tissues trying to keep her face dry. She's four months and no teeth yet, but the drooling is still there, only now she tries to bite everything near her mouth. I don't know if it gets better till all the teeth show up either... I sure hope so
