Frequent Headaches

I know my little guy is big and very heavy. 16 lbs is heavy when you carry it around all day LOL! He is getting over colic and is a high maintenance baby, so a lot of holding is required. But since he was born, my headaches have been pretty much a dull ache every day, sometimes are real bad, but not often. I don't know if it is lack of sleep, or the sore back and neck muscles I always have as a result of constant holding, or a combo of both. At first I thought it was crashing hormones after birth, but has been 3 months. It is getting annoying to have a headache every day and I get tired of taking motrin all the time. Any suggestions?

If you are b___stfeeding, mabye you need more water....or maybe it is a rebound headache from taking the motrin. Your body may have come accustomed to it everyday.

I too had headaches, and the doctor told me to take Motrin. Turned out, according to my pharmacist... that Motrin is mainly an anti-inflammatory, and doesn't help much to relieve pain. I started taking Tylenol Migraine relief and it works really well! Also lack of sugar in your system will cause headaches etc. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking lots of water and juice. (Juice may give you that bit of extra sugar that your body is lacking.)

Sometimes caffeine will help with a headache, too. I started having bad headaches after I had my first daughter, but they were not constant, just a migraine every few weeks that lasted for two days. I had a spinal headache after the birth and I've always wondered if it was related.

d, were you serious about the evil eye? That is such an interesting superst_tion. Is it a religious thing, or something your mother pa__sed down to you?

d - November 22

Its not a religious thing, but a cultural belief in Greece and in many other countries for centuries. If its true there is no harm in trying what they recommend. Other countries have different charms with blue but in Greece this is what they do as stated earlier about the oil. They also pin the eye on babies clothes to protect them.

I've had a couple after Emma was born but I was usually super tired when I had them and just needed to drink a big gla__s of water and take some Advil and take a nap with her when she goes down and I wake up feeling a lot better.

I don't drink coffee, but caffeine does help sometimes. When they get real bad I take excedrin migraine. I really think a lot of it comes from the strain in my back and neck from carrying my little bundle. Also, probably from my eyes from working on a computer all day at work. Motrin does not seem to be helping anymore. Maybe I will switch to advil. Tyleno never works for me. Lack of sleep plays into it. Lucas is not a great sleeper. I probably do not drink enough water either. Thanks for all the great advice! I really appreciate it.

hey well my ct scan was clear but im having heart flutters, so i have to wear a heart monitor for 24 hours so they can see more.

I have an irregular heartbeat. When I was pregnant I wore a monitor for 24 hours becuase I was having palpitations, and other symptoms. They did not find anything wrong and the symptoms went away after giving birth. Glad to hear the ct scan went well.
