Frist Night Away

Ok..Tonight Kamrie is going to stay with her grandma and grandpa all night long for the first time. I am such a mess. She is only 8 weeks old and I feel like such a bad mother for wanting a night off. I only work 2 days a week 4 hours a day so I am not use to being away from her. I am sure that she will be ok there considering my parents took care of me and I am just fine, and also my parents just adopted a little girl who is 4 weeks old so we keep telling Kamrie it is her first sleep over! I am just so nrevous, any advice, and how old was your baby the first night you let them stay somewhere? Thanks!

It can be hard, but my Lucas is not a sleeper, and did not sleep at all, or so it felt, the first 5 weeks of life. I so needed a break to get some sleep, and my mom took him overnight at 3 weeks old. He was perfectly fine, and so was I. I got some rest and was able to be a better mommy. Since then he has spent 3 or 4 more nights with her and 3 nights with my in laws. I swear he sleeps better at their houses than at home! Now he is 9 weeks old. I do have to work full time, so it helps to get a full nights sleep once in a while and to only have one person to get out the door in the morning. So once a week or every two weeks he spends a night with one of the sets of grandparents. I beleive it is good for babies and parents to have that break once in a while, he gets to bond with his loving grandparents and the grandparents are so excited to have him and be able to do it! So everyone wins. It gets easier after the first time, I called my mom a million times the first night. Now I only call once LOL. Enjoy the break, and be glad she has grandparents who love her. That is such a special relationship, I know my grandma means the wold to me and I want Lucas to feel the same about his wonderful grandparents

Amaya's mommy aka Stephanie - October 22

Amaya was probably 5-6 weeks old the first time she spent the night with my mother, she now stays at least 1 night a week usually Friday night. They are like best friends, so funny! It will be good for you and your mother, a very special bonding time.

My daughters have never spent the night away from us. My sister would like to take my three year old for a weekend now and then, and I'm ready but my husband's not.

Danielle, how did Kamrie's night go? Did she have a good time?

Jadyns Mommy - October 26

I am curious about this too. Jadyn is almost 6 months and I have never spent a night away from her. In fact, other than work 3 days a week now, I have only gone out without her once for about 4 hours to a baseball game and I called her Grandma every hour while I was gone to check on her. I have some horrible anxiety and literally get sick to my stomach when I am away from her. It was so bad that my boss actually tells me to work from home because I am more productive there and not constantly worrying. I dont know how I am ever going to get over this but I know I have to soon!
