People clearly have strong opinions on this, but most doctors and experts (people who have spent years studying child behavior) know that physical discipline is a worthless tool in trying to rear happy, sociall adjusted children. It causes emotional scaring and teaches them to react to situations with violence. You have to make your children mind you, I agree. Children should not be able to just do whatever they want. But there are more effective ways of training children. I would highly suggest taking some child care cla__ses. Also, an 8 month old can't "reason" so trying to use discipline is ridiculous.

My daughter went through that when she was 3month old, and right away i raised a firm voice and said "no"...it scared her a little, and she never rolled over again. And with son, he started doing that at 12mts. OMG not fun!!! i raised my voice, but it didnt work, so i swaped his hand....he never budge again. To: Tiffany. I dont think any of these mothers, BEAt their children, a swap and a beating is very different. maybe your kids, may end up to be those kids that GET hit, and theyll just stand in the corner crying. Or always be winny when other kids do the littlest things. i aint starting anything, just my point of view on this subject

Actually when my son was younger I was able to keep him still by giving him something to hold and look at. Usually I would give him a bright toy or the powder bottle. He would get to busy looking at that he wouldn't realize I was changing him until I was done. I hope this helped.
