My sister was born when I was 11. My dad was working out of town a lot. You're old enough to help your mom with some basic baby care, like changing diapers or giving baths. You can also help with household chores, maybe learn to cook and make dinner one or two nights a week. The only thing you need to remember is that you're at an age where your schoolwork is important. Don't ignore your homework, and don't stay up all night with the baby, and be too tired to go to school. Your mom will be tired and probably sore after she has the baby, so try to make things easier for her. Try not to fight with your older sister too much if you can help it (that was the main thing that always stressed my mom out). You'll have a lot of fun helping your mom with your new brother.

Jessica, I think it is wonderful that you want to help your mom with the baby and I bet she will appreciate it as well. My advice is to just be sure to ask your mom whenever you have freetime what you can do to help and let her tell you what she needs at that time. But Jbear is right too, make sure you still work hard on your school work and get your rest as well. Good luck with your new baby brother!! :-)
