My son's cord fell off on Mon. but it looks like there is some left and it looks a little raw. I called his Dr. and he said to keep putting alcohol on it and it will dry up. When I clean it my son doesn't seem to be in any pain and it isn't swollen or bleeding?? With my first baby it just feel right off and was fine underneath. By the way he is 2 weeks 2 days old.

When my son's fell off at 10 days old, for a few days it did ooze blood a little bit and it was raw but not swollen. The doctor said to just clean it off with alcohol until it completely dries up. A few days later it was fine. It never seemed to bother him.

Same thing here. When Jadyns fell off, it looked like some of it was still stuck in there and it was very red and raw looking but I just kept putting rubbing alcohol on it and she never seemed in discomfort.

Thanks I was worried he had an infection but like I said he is in no pain so I'll just keep cleaning it.

Nadya had the same thing, and I was worried about it. The cord fell off after about 5 days, but it looked yellow and weepy underneath with mild bleeding. It yellow stuff cleared up after a few days, and the bleeding stopped after 2 weeks. Now she has a lovely little belly b___ton. :)
