HE IS VERY ACTIVE WITH HIS ARMS AND LEGS AND DOES ROLL OVER TO HIS SIDE AND WILL SIT UP WITH SUPPORT BUT IM WORRIED THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG SINCE HE ISNT DOING MUCH ELSE. I TAKE HIM FOR HIS 6 MONTH CHECK UP NEXT WEEK BUT I WAS HOPING SOME OF YOU COULD HELP ME TO FIGURE OUT IF HE IS SLOW OR JUST MAYBE LAZY? ANY OTHER 6 MONTH OLDS STILL JUST KINDA LAYING AROUND?

Hey, Tara. My 7 month old is the same way. He will roll over once in a blue moon, hates being on his tummy and has no inclination to crawl or stand. I also have to hold him from behind to sit up or he will throw himself back without warning.
he is also extremly active with his legs and arms and loves to jump in his excersauser, so I am sure our guys are just a bit lazy:) He loves being on his back and that is that!!! I know how you fell, though, my friends baby who is only 3 weeks older can crawl ,stand ect. for a long time now. good luck!

My niece was the same way, but now she's 6 and one of the brightest children in her cla__s. She just enjoyed being a baby so much, that she was in no rush to grow up. :) Who can blame her?!

is your son tall ? because my son is and still doesn't roll over - the doctor told me that it could take longer because of his height

height and weight especially weight make a big difference in a childs ability to get moving .Rolling over at six or seven months into the crawl position is very common then they begin to make swimming efforts to crawl and quickly begin to crawl coaxed on by a few unnerving chin-to-floor plants . Children also begin walking at different ages ...anywhere from 9 to 18 months . The size of the child versus muscle tone is the most common reason because motivation is always there with everyone around them up on their two feet . I'm guessing the child may have taken an unnerving spill and is currently not throwing caution to the wind about it . If the child is not very large there may be some concern but it is still too early to tell and depending on whether the child has good exposure to hard surfaces or soft matresses to perform the act of getting motivated . Six months is still very young but flailing arms and legs is a good sign of progress

At 6 months my son would lay down and lift his head and roll over. My son is squirming around at 7 months now. He has no upper arm strength, has leg strength but doesn't know how to crawl yet. The past two days he figured how to sit up on his own but rarely does it. I know a girl who is 3 weeks ahead of my son and she is crawling everywhere in full speed!. Girls apparently develop a little faster. I'm not worried. Dr. says he's doing fine and I'm sure eventually hell get it.
