Luvs Newborn Diapers Are Terrible

I've been recommending Luvs every time anyone asks about diapers, because I used them with my first daughter and I liked them. But I had never used the newborn size before. I'm using them on my new baby, and they won't stay on for anything. They don't have any elastic at the waist. I bought a pack of Pampers newborn and they were exactly the same, except they have a different cartoon character where the tapes go. After going through all my crib sheets in one day, I bought a pack of Huggies, and they actually stay on.

I agree but if you wanted to save some money, I tried the White Cloud brand at walmart and I personally think they are AWESOME. Compared to loves at least. The white clouds have stretchy elastic waist bands and whatnot. I guess I don't have a new born anymore though. My son is 11 months and the walmart brand hasn't let me down yet and they're CHEAP. I used luvs the first three months of my son's life and they seemed to leak too but I noticed that it was because I wasn't putting them on tight enough. I guess being a parent though, you can try new things out and whatnot. We're all different, I'm the type who likes to save money and I was super skeptical about the White Cloud brand. Good luck.

I also used white cloud newborn. I really liked them.
I now use pampers swadlers new baby size 1-2. They are better than pampers baby dry because they are a lot more flexable. I hate huggies. They stink when wet and my son doesn't stay dry in them. Everyone has there own personal choice.

We tried Luvs because everyone said they were just like Pampers. Well we got them and they didnt have any elastic in the legs. Her little legs were always really read when we would take the diaper off. We used Pampers Swaddlers for newborn and size 1 and now we use Huggies Supreme. They are AWESOME!!!

O my gosh, I noticed the same thing about huggies too!!! They do smell when wet, I always thought my son just needed a bath or his clothes changed!! Poor lil guy haha. For what huggies are worth, I'll probably never buy them. White cloud for me from now on.

I used the Pampers Swaddlers up until my son went into size 3 diapers because they only make them up until size 2. I loved them, they WERE really stretchy and flexible...no leaking problems. For older babies I recommen either Huggies Supreme or Pampers Cruisers.

I strongly disagree with you. I have tried all 3 brands and have found luvs to be my favorite. The huggies leak right out the side. My son was 6lbs 11 ozs when he was born and is now 4 weeks old, about 7 pounds. I have not had a single diaper fall off or leak as far as using the luvs. When using the huggies, the straps have come undone a couple of times and it seems about every other diaper would leak right out the side. So, I highly recommend the luvs diapers to everyone. I especially liked the cutout for the umbilical cord when he still had his cord. I have a pack of huggies newborn diapers that my fiance got as a gift at his diaper party and we will be taking them back to the store to trade them for luvs. I hate the huggies and don't exactly like stain sticking all of his clothes already.

I have found I like Huggies when they are newborns. But now my daughter is 15 months old and I love the Luvs diapers! They work so much better while she is stilllllll crawling! Ugh!

i have noticed that a lot of chunky babies do great in pampers, the skinny babies (like mine) do fine in white cloud or huggies. whatever you do, if you have a skinny newborn like i had (6lbs 9oz, 21 inches) never use those d__n pampers size 1. if you want to use pampers on a skinny baby, use the newborn swaddlers and wrap it snug. i guess pampers really dont care about the tiny folk out there.

My son is in a size 3 and my favorite are Pampers Baby Dry. However, I'll use almost anything if the price is right. The only diaper I absolutly hated was the Target brand. Someone gave me a ton of them at my shower for centerpieces and I was so happy when they were finally gone. The person that gave them to me loved them for her son so I think it's all in the way they fit your particular child.

Its whatever works for you cuz, luvs has the umbilical cord cut out and didn't leak for me like the huggies did!

I like huggies best for my daughter the elastic seems streachier than pampers or luvs and the velcro seems to hold better. I buy them at sams club (you can get a whole case for about 30$) i aslo prefer huggies natral care wipes they seem less iritating that anything else (a case is availble at sams club for about 14$) so we really dont spend that much on dipers and wipe a case of diepers lasts about a month and a case of wipes (6 refills) lasts about 21/2 months
