My son is 3 months old. He is doing great in so many ways....., sleeps through the night, takes a good nap(2-3hrs) in the morning, then one in the afternoon, eats well. His problem is he wants to do soooo much, turn over, sit up, crawl, etc...so whenever he is up he will interact for a little while( 1/2 hr or so), then he gets upset and I can't make him happy. He is not content to just sit and watch the world go by, he has alot of spirit. He especially hates being strapped his car seat, or any other seat. My question is when will he be able to do things so he does not get frustrated. What is in store for him in the 4th month?

hello. I think most babies go through this stage. He knows he wants to play, but can't figure what to do. My son who is 5 months old would go through all his "stations"(chair, swing, floor and my arms!) and get bored fast. Now, he is so content to play pretty much anywhere. I had to teach myself and him what was fun. I think for us, playing on the floor with a overhead bar of toys was and still is the funnest thing for him. He just got an excersaucer 2 days ago and is really digging that, too. I also set him in front of a large mirror in his chair, which is the cat's meow too!! Keep trying EVERYTHING you can think of , eventually you will find all his funnybones and keep him entertained!! My guy still gets frustrated, and when he does we do another of his favorite things!! Goodluck to you!!

I know how frustrating it can get for both of you. I love alot of the suggestions desiree gave, i did most of them too, it really helped. Walks in the stroller were good too.. make a point of naming things he sees, he seems very eager to learn.. I found with my son (who was very much the way you described) that at about 8 months when we started teaching him to sign, it was a WORLD of help. The basics like hungry, more, milk, dirty (for his diaper) made things less frustrating for him because he knew he had some form of communication. Hang in there.. it only gets better :)
