It's me again! Gabriel had his immunizations this morning! 3 needles, 2 in one leg, and 1 in the other! What a brave little guy he was! Cried for only a moment! The Health Nurse was so quick and precise, so I think that helped the situation! He officially weighs, as of this morning 8lbs 13 oz! He is 52 cm. long! (20.8in.) He's growing so big! He'll be 9 weeks tomorrow! Not bad for a runt, hey?

Chelsey I'm glad Gbriel is doing well. When you get a sec pls post some new pics! Anna was fine too. Had some minor temperature and redness on her leg from the DPT so we gave her infant tylenol even if the temperature didn't go over 100. She's 13 lbs 5 oz and 23.5 inches long (on the high side, but still normal)

Oh, she had her immunizations on Saturday? Poor thing! Well, atleast the kids are needle free for another 2 months! Gabriel was fine at first, then closer to evening, he was really cranky, and had a bit of a fever. Gave him Tempra to help control it. He has a bit of swelling in the leg where they gave him 2 needles, and one of the holes was sort of hard, like an absess, for about 12 hours. He's much better now, though. Kids are more resiliant than we realize! Gosh, Anna's growing so big! Is it true that kids are supposed to only triple their birth weight in a year? I quess it depends.... I will post mor epicture stoday sometime! I have to get the husband to download the pictures on the digital camera, so that I can take some more! I dont know how, and if I try, I'll break something! I'll let you know when I get this done! Thanks for the update on your angel!

Why is your Baby only almost 9 lbs at 9 weeks?

chelsey - September 19

Because he was born 5 weeks early, and only weighed 4 lbs 3 oz, at birth.

Chelsey as far as tripling the birth weight, it depends on a number of factors. On Sat Anna had a play date with our friend's baby (named Alex) 20 days older than her who was born almost 10 lbs!!!. She's only gained three lbs, but she's still within the normal weight range. The play-date ended up being a sleep session for both of them (doh!). The weight gain often happens in bursts and is inconsistent. Gabriel was preterm, so in essence you have to look up what a month-old should be, and I think he's just right. Don't be too anxious for him to grow heavier because holding Anna now is a lot more tiring than before, and my wife is getting PT for her tendonitis! Thank God (and Fischer-Price) for that bouncer!

I quess I am a little anxious for him to "grow" up. I dont know why, my daughter wasn't much bigger than Gabriel when she was born, and I didnt worry so much. I must be getting more worrisome in my aging life! Anna had a play/ sleep date? How cute is that!!! I dont know of anybody, where I live, that have babies. Only toddlers...so Gabriel doesn't have that kind of interaction with other infants. Now that he's been immunized though, I think I'll take him to a Mommy and Me play group, while the oldest is in preschool. Silly me, I didn't even like taking him to the grocery store! So, I gave Gabriel about a teaspoon of Rice cereal yesterday.( I had to use my own judgement) I was hoping that it would help him keep his formula down, and help him sleep a bit better throughout the day. Lately he barely naps, and when he does, its never for very long, because he need to burp or throwup. He actually loved cereal. He slept for about 6 hours after I gave it to him. Then he woke up, I gave him some formula, a bath and he went back to sleep. He woke up at 2am, ate about 3oz, then up again at 6am, and ate about 2oz. Now he's sleeping again! I hope that he didn't get too full from the cereal! Or maybe he's just starting to get into the habit of sleeping through the night?
