He is eating around 30 oz. a day. He eats 5 oz. every 3-4 hours. I feel like he is eating like a pig and read 2 oz for every pound he weighs around 10-11 lbs.

My five week old does the same thing...But I dont worry, he just has a healthy appet_te. I would worry if he didnt. My little boy was 5 lbs and 8 oz to begin with and now he is up to 9lbs and 8oz..so he gains a pound/week. He just needs to catch up :-)))

At that age you're supposed to give them as much food as they'll take. Check with your doc but he'll probably say the same. It may change soon too

Well this morning he had 5 oz. at 6 and then wanted more after he had another 5 oz. at 8:30 so I gave him another oz. He is getting huge. He has his checkup Mon. he will be 5 wks. so I will talk to my Dr. I remember with my first son my Dr. thought he was eating alot for his age as well. But what is a person to do the kid is hungry.

I worry about the over feeding too. My doctor told me that at 2 weeks they should be consuming 24 ounces per day. My baby eats every 2 1/2 - 3 hours and takes 3-4 ounces. Sometimes after the 4 ounces he is still frantic for more, so I feed him. He was 8 lbs., 10 oz. at birth and at 2 weeks he weighed 9.6 pounds. He won't take a pacifier so it's hard to hold him off. It seem like everytime he wakes up, he thinks it's time to eat.
