Regressing Or Growth Spurt

Since about 2 months, my son was down to only getting up to eat once a night, but the last two weeks or so, now that he is just over 3 months, he is getting up to eat twice. I was thinking growth spurt, but don't they only last for a few days? I was hoping to be working towards sleeping thru the night at this point. Any suggestions!

My son did the same thing! I found that a quick cuddle and maybe some rocking put him back asleep without feeding him. He's four months now and usually sleeps till 6 or 7 am. Good luck!

Jesse is 16 weeks now and he did the same, now he is back to either sleeping through the night or waking up once!!!

Maybe I'll try that, but before he was having his bedtime bottle at 9pm or so, and sleeping til 2am, eating, then sleeping til 6 or 7am, but now he wants to eat at 12:30 am and again at 4am, and still sleeps the normal 9:30 pm or so until 6 or 7 am. I can usually tell when he is just fussing and when he is hungry. He sleeps with me so when he starts eating my pajamas I figure he wants a bottle!

Gabreil is 4 months, and doesn't wake up anymore at night to eat. I put him to bed between 8 and 9 and he'll sleep for about 12 hours. If by chance he wakes up at 6 or 7 a.m, I just give him his pacifier. Because he is usually just talking or scoots over in his crib to turn on his piano. He loves his Soothie, and I tend to think that it is a life saver! Does Lucas use a pacifier?

Thanks FF and Shelly, sometimes it seems we take two steps forward and two steps back with this kid! He was getting into a good nap routine too but the last few days will not sleep during the day again either. I get worn out guessing with my little angel! It's good to know I am not alone!

Ha ha, Rachel, my son sleeps with me too and he has those pj eating moments too! This morning I was dozing beside him and he bit my nose! lol :) I hope you find what works for you!

they change so much.....just when you think nothing will change they do. If they are teething their patterns change...my doctor told me sometimes whenever there is a milestone their eating and sleeping patterns can change.

Sorry chelsey, you must have posted while I was, so I did not see you until I came back in. Certainly did not mean to exclude you, or play favorites! LOL! Sorry, couldn't resist being a little bit of a sarcastic jerk there! Lucas will take a paci very occasionally during the day when he is drifting off to sleep and is restless, but I have not been able to get him to consistently take one or to ever take one at night. I have tried all kinds too, and he only likes nuks. He only took the soothies in the hospital. I can't wait for the day he sleeps like your Gabriel!!!

Oh, hey monica! The posting is going so fast I did not see you either until I came back in. That milestone thing sounds right. He really has been teething bad. Seems like his gums have been hurting a lot more the last few days. Perhaps we will see a tooth soon!

Well Rachel, I just about started a thread wondering why I wasn't a favorite of yours! I mean, how dare you not respond to my post!! lol... couldn't resist either! Gabriel has been sleeping throught the night for well over a month. I love it! He gets formula and ceral at about 6 pm, then he gets his bath, then I feed him just formula (about 4oz, is all he'll take)... then he's so ready for bed! I keep him up most of the day, and only let him sleep if he is starting to drift off on his own. Besides, he has a big sister who keeps him amused all day, and they go to bed at night around the same time. By the time she's in bed, Gabriel is like "Thank God, now I can get some freakin' sleep!!!"

That is very cute! Lucas is not a big sleeper to begin with. He does get cereal in his bottles for reflux. It's just frustrating when you get so hopeful because they start doing so good, and then they go backwards. My little bugger just likes to keep me on his toes!
