When making formula, I boil the water. At which age should water that infants drink, not needed to be boiled anymore and just drink straight out of the tap?

I have had 3 children, and with each one I stopped at around their 1st birthday. I am pretty sure that is rule of thumb :)

You really dont need to boil the water if you live in a city, unless your don't trust the water for some reason. Up to 4 months is the age I have seen, if you want to continue boiling it. Don't forget to use COLD tap water.

I never boiled water for my daughter and was never instructed by her doctor/hospital to do so.

I don't boil the water either. Our tap water is good and there haven't been any problems. She drinks the formula with ease and doesn't seem to mind the taste or anything.

I was told that you should boil the water if you have a well. We do, so I boil. I read that you should boil until they are 6 mos.
