That was actually really mean of you. Babies learn at their own paces, and if you push them they ,ay actually regress. My 17 month old wasn't walking steadily until he was around 14 months. You should not blackmail your kids into learning their milestones sooner. Maybe when he goes to school you can blackmail him to increase his eagerness to get good grades, but otherwise you should really let them learn at their own pace. My autistic nephew couldn't walk until he was 18 months. Please don't pressure your baby to learn faster anymore. It can also give him self-esteem issues when he gets older.

I Only said it to him as a joke. I didn't think he would understand me. So i wasn't blackmailing him.

my 10 mo. old has been taking steps by herself, like 3-4 but then falls, and she can stand up on her own from sitting position without holding on to anything, shes been doing this for a month now and hasnt progressed at all. Im just waiting to see when she will finally really walk. My friend's baby is 3 weeks older than my daughter and she started really walking at 9 mo.
