ok so my daughter breauna is 10wks sometimes she will eat 6oz but not all the time. We have learned (because of so much wasted formula) to feed her 4oz and then if she wants more we will make 2 more oz. Sometimes she will only eat 3 oz sometimes 4 then like and hour and a half later she will want 2 more oz this is crazy to me I just want her to eat it all at once. I dont like feeding her than feeding her again an hr or so later. Is this normal at this age? when does the eating amount become consistent and not 3oz here and 5 oz there? Does anyone have any ideas on how to break this habit or should I just wait for her to do it on her own? advice pleeeeeaaase

Hah! My little guy is 9 weeks and does the same thing! I make him 4oz. He'll eat that, then want 2 more oz about an hour later! This has just been happening within the past week or so. It used to be 4 oz, every 4 hours. I think I'll start him on cereal in a couple of weeks. My daughter was 3 months when I started her. Thats when she started sleeping through the night, and filling up more when eating. My boy, just seems so hungry all the time. During the day, he hates to sleep lately too. Thats when he seems to be inconsistent with his feedings. I know he is growing, thats why he wants to keep eating!

my son was doing that from 3 weeks old (eating 5.5 oz of b___stmilk). It did slow down around 7-8 weeks. He is 9 weeks now..... How long can you keep formula out before you have to throw it away. B milk is 1 hour, so maybe make 5 or 6 and then see if she eats that within the hour.... good luck!
