I am curious...is it true that men get to have more than one wife?

I am LDS as well, and from Utah. No men DO NOT get to have more than one wife. The practice of that ended early in the 1900's. Now it is strictly forbidden and anyone who does is excommunicated. There are break off groups though who do practice polygamy. Oh my husband and I are the ward librarians. :)

yes but it still happens!! Even though they say it doesn't there a bunch of them.......sheezzz I can't imagine how men can handle more then one women.....That's just crazy...where I live there are bunch of them.......

Just curious does anyone else get sick of the stupid questions asked when people find out you're from Utah or you're LDS? My husband works at a telemarketing place and when people from other states call they ask him if he has more than one wife or if he's mormon. It's extremely ridiculous people are so close minded. They seem not even willing to learn a little before they start to put labels on people. But just my opinion from my own experiences.

I'm from Provo, and I do sometimes get tired of the questions. I usually don't mind though, becuase i do understand there are misconceptions and at least they are asking about it from a source who knows rather than elsewhere.

Latter Day Saints-yep we are mormons. The official name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, so we call ourselves Latter Day Saints.
