she may not need a nap anymore if she's sleeping that long at night.

Our daughter had the same problem so I talked with my doctor about it and she suggested letting her nap in my bed or somewhere other than her crib. She said she is probably fighting it because she knows she has to sleep there. She told me it doesnt hurt rocking her to sleep during the day but lay her down at night on her own. I have started rocking her until she gets very tired and then laying her either in her pack n play or my bed. She is still using her swing and naps in there also.

Consider yourself lucky. My four month old doesn't want to sleep long at night or during the day!

ya.. I still haven't slept longer than 5 hours since my close-to-5mth-old was born. Average would be 4 hours now. But now at least he knows night and day and goes straight back to sleep after his night feeds. I still b___stfeed so that's probably why i have to feed more frequently. Hopefully it gets better when i stat solids.

A child needs a nap up until almost the age of 5. The average toddler will sleep about 10 -11 hours a night. Plus have a nap in the afternoon. This helps them grow and stay energized.

my 5 month old does the same thing she's very fussy during the day because she needs a nap and she wont take one. i try rocking her with a pacifier and sometimes that helps plus when she naps its only for 20-30 min. but she does sleep from 7-7am so i get a good night a sleep.
