just had a pp check with doc and i NEED a suitable form of contraception. was hopng for IUD but my doc says he 'don't recommend it unless i am done having children'. And he didn't speak of the mini pill that's supposed to be for pple who are b/fding. he just told me that i am b/fding a boy and shldn't be on anything that alters my hormones. I plan to b/f til at least 6 mths and i don't want to rely on condoms alone.

That is surprising that your doc would not recommend an IUD. I have had one daughter almost eight years ago, and had an IUD in for two and a half years. I just got it out as my hubby and I are ttc right now. If I were you, I would speak to another OBGYN about an IUD being okay for you to use. I know that OBGYN'S do not like to put it in women who have not had children....so it seems weird that he would tell you he does not recommed it for people who are planning to have more children. I know a number of people who use it and who are planning on having more children later in life.
