Hi Cydilea - Welcome. It's good to have new people all the time. My lo is 5 days away from 4 months. He is 19 pounds and he eats 7 7.5 ounces every 4 hours. He also eats cereal in each of his bottles. I am sure your lo is getting plenty if he's not fussy. It won't hurt to give him a little extra during the day. Initially my dr told me to give him an extra bottle during the day because during the day, the more they eat, the less they need over night. Michael sleeps about 10.5 hours every night without eating. But he sounds healthy and happy. They are all so different. Michael is just starting to giggle. He hasn't rolled over yet but he's trying. He also just figured out how to suck his thumb. He will only chew on a teething ring if I hold it. We don't have a belly laugh yet either. Hi girls, Well I tried to switch from soy...No luck... he screamed all day yesterday...dumb move to switch on easter!!!! It was fun and he was up all night. I forgot how awful that was. So I think we are sticking to the soy!!! Hope everyone is doing well!!! TARA

Cydilea- welcome! our boys are about 4 months and they are rolling over fairly well. maddox is better at it than maguire, but maguire gets frustrated pretty quickly. they've been teething since 3 months and are getting better at sucking their thumbs. maguire would probably sleep through the night if maddox didn't wake him with his fussing. they each eat about 6 ounce every 2-4 hours depending on what time of day. (they eat more at night) and they generally will eat up to 10 ounces right before bed if i let them. the boys chew on everything, but will only hold things for a few sec if you put it there. they boys are doing kind of burst of giggles. almost like they're trying to start a motor (heh-heh-heh-heh-heh [- like that)we recently tried rice cereal on a spoon and maddox did okay. are you supposed to started in the bottle or one a spoon? does it matter?? tara- did you try putting part old formula and part new? like 1 oz new formula to 3 oz old? then putting more and more of the new and less of the old each time? when i changed from soy to milk-based, that helped a lot.

Hi ladies. Welcome Cyndi. I was wondering about you. I haven't heard from you in a while. It's good to hear that you lo is doing great. Aj is doing great. He rolled over for the first time last night. I didn't even get to see it. I was in the shower and hubby was watching him. I think aj weighs about 15 pounds but i'm not positive. He will be 4 months on the 18th. Is anyone's babies sitting up yet? Aj only sits up like if he's laying against the couch. I got a tattoo today. I love it. It sure did hurt though. It was easier than giving birth though. I also sprained my ankle so I haven't been able to work out which sucks. Well that's all I can think of right now. Have a great night everyone. Amanda

austynsmommy - April 13

Aj suck's his thumb also. I hope he doesn't do it all the time. It is so hard to break.

Hi Girls- Hope everyone had a great holiday! Welcome Cyndi. My name is Colleen and my lo is Luke. He was due 12/7 but was born 10/23- 7 weeks early. He is now about 15-16 lbs and takes 6.5 oz every 3 hours. He is really catching up. He sleeps through the night, his last feed is between 9-10 pm. He wakes between 5-6 am which is great. We tried the cereal by spoon and he wasn't too receptive. He gave me a look like "What the hell are you putting in my mouth". I will keep trying though. Since your lo's weight is good, I wouldn't worry about him taking smaller feedings. They are all different and it's not like he is losing weight. Cereal in the bottle is really only recommended for lo's w. acid reflux. As far as the milestones go, Luke has rolled over a couple of times (of course I missed it, I was at work). He gives full belly laughs (sounds like a old fat guy) for awhile now. He will hold things when you put them in his hands for short periods. Your lo sounds about right developmentally. The night waking does sound like teething. Have you tried giving him one more feeding before bed? Luke will do a feed while he is totally asleep and that gets him though til morning.

clindholm - April 14

Tara- funnygal has a good point, maybe a slow transition from the soy would work, maybe over the course of a few weeks? You must be due to go back to work soon, right? funnygal- The cereal in the bottle is usually one for lo's w/ reflux so I'd skip it and keep working on the spoon feeding. austynsmommy- It sucks missing all the first's, doesn't it? What did you get for a tattoo? I always wanted one but never got around to it. Where did you get it? Hi to all the rest of the girls, hope everyone is well. jess- I hope things are ok for you, we haven't heard from you in quite awhile. Colleen

Kimmer23 - April 14

Hey girls! Hi cyndilea - I was wondering what happened to you. Sounds like your lo is doing well! Brayden is 4 days older...but I think he is by far the smallest baby. He may be 11 lbs. now. He's a little guy, but the doc said he looks good. And, he's happy for the most part. Brady doesn't sleep through the night. But, he'll go for one long stretch at he beginning - it varies from 3-7 hours depending on the night. Brady smiles a lot, but no belly laughs. He has been swatting at stuff for a while, but he doesn't grab things just yet. He'll hold a rattle or whatever if I put it in his hand. And, he rolls from front to back, and I think he'll roll from back to front very soon. He gets half way! Maybe he's rolling because he doesn't have much weight to throw around ;) Austynsmommy - I hope your ankle gets better soon. How's the ppd? Tara - your lo is so big!! Sounds like is is doing great though...other than the switch between formulas. I hope that gets better if you try again. Maybe doing it slowly like funnygal said would work better. How are you Colleen, jeni, jess, babee? I hope everyone is doing well.

babeedust2all - April 14

Cyndilea, glad to hear from you and that things are going well. Makayla's doing well, no belly laughs yet but a lot of smiling and "talking". She rolled over for the first time today, but I'm wondering if it might have been a fluke (she did it twice in a row, but hasn't since). Anyway, we'll see! She's also starting to grab at things. She spends a good deal of time staring at her hands and feet! Austynsmommy, I hope your ankle gets better. How's your hubby doing with everything that happened with his dad? Kimmer, I hope Brady will start sleeping for longer stretches because I can only imagine how tired you must be. How's everyone else doing?

Wow, it's been awhile. Busy weekend. Went to our local Tulip Festival to see arts and crafts vendors and of course the beautiful tulip gardens. Then took the boys up to the zoo in a neighboring city. They're a little small to really enjoy it, but they seemed intrigued with the big cats. So thankful it didn't rain all weekend like the weather report said it would. It turned out to be a very nice weekend in all. How is everyone else doing? austynsmommy - my boys can sit up for up to about 30 seconds on their own. they try so hard and want to sit alone, but most of the time we prop them with a boppy or something. They love sitting in the recliner with us like big boys. :P what did you get for your tattoo?

clindholm - April 20

Hey everyone! funnygal- sounds like you had a nice weekend. We plan on doing the zoo over the summer too. Even though their a little young for it, just getting them out in the fresh air and seeing new sights is wonderful for them. We took my 2 yo dd and Luke to the park yesterday and then to "Andies Bounce Barn" it was soooo cool! It was all these huge b__w up thingies, like houses and fun houses that the kids can run around in. My dd loved it but got a little scared when she was in one that had a tube you crawl through and a bunch of big kids came running through and she could not see my dh. Poor kid, she was crying. All in all they both had a great time. I just have to say that my dh is the best. I got up Saturday morning to a rose and a card. The card was sweet and there was a big long note inside saying that this was "my day" and he would take care of the kids and clean the house. He scheduled all this stuff for me, I had a 9:00 am appt to get my hair done (last time was in August last year). Then he setup lunch with an old friend of mine and we had a few drinks. Then I went shopping and got some clothes. He also made reservations for dinner at a place that we cannot afford to eat. We had lobster and drinks and dessert and cappucino. Then... he reserved a room at the Crown Plaza (we made some good memories there when we were dating, lol). There was chilled champagne and candles. It was the best! Then to top it off, he left early the next morning and I had until noon ALL BY MYSELF! I sat in the jacuzzi and soaked and read my book. Thats right, no screaming, feeding, pee or poop! Man I was in heaven! It just kinda reminds ya why you put up with all their c___p, right? Then of course yesterday was family day which was nice. It was nice to get a break but I missed the kids and of course worried about them. Does anyone use the Bumbo to plunk their lo's in and teach them to situp? Luke likes his and I think it helps strengthen his tummy muscles. I am a little worried about him developmentally. He really will not put much weight on his legs and try to stand. How is everyone else's lo doing on that? My mom had Luke sitting up leaning against her and he was just so tired he just plunked down on his face. He didn't cry or anything. Poor baby. Got to get back to work, will check back...Colleen

funnygal84 - April 20

WOW!!! Is it your birthday or something? I can't imagine my dh doing anything quite so exstravagant for me. When we were dating, he planned a trip to Times Square for NYE, but I'm pretty sure that was the last time. He's sweet and will like buy me a book i've been wanting from time to time, but wow. lucky you. it sounds like heaven. :) the boys really want to walk. any time you hold them up they try to put weight on their legs. like like to do squats. :P I don't know where they are developmentally, but we keep thinking that they'll just bypa__s crawling alltogether and go strait from lying like wet noodles to running. :P

funnygal84 - April 20

p.s. we do, however, put them in a jumperoo as well to help strengthen their muscles. have you tried one of those? oh yeah, and to answer you question, we've never used a bumbo. i'd like to get a couple, but it seems like an added expense that we don't really need since we have the boppies we can prop them up with.

micsmms3 - April 20

hello girls, it's been a loooong time since I've chimed on so I hope you don't mind if I do, because I actually have a few minutes, until lo wakes up! I have kept up reading threads via my iphone email... though I have found it hard to get on here and actually post something. My lo doesn't like to sit with me at the computer, and she really needs to be either entertained or held constantly! Are your lo's like that? Colleen, I didn't receive your email on the CPR stuff... I looked several times in my inbox and didn't see it. I wonder if it got sent to spam? Also, I did notice a facebook invite from someone that I didn't know and came to find out- that was you! I'm sorry! If you give your email, or re-try me on facebook, I will surely accept this time! ; ) Your "day" sounds sooooo wonderful! Do you live in Ohio? I know that someone does on this thread. I recognized the Crown Plaza... I used to live right down the block from it! Mb your husband should write a book on how to be the best daddy & husband.... we could give copies of it to our men! The Bumbo- I use it mostly for feeding as I am resisting a high chair until I have to get one. My house is very small! I love the bumbo, it is great, and she loves to sit in it. I got the tray as well, which I put on for feeding time. If I use it to sit her next to me while I'm cooking or doing dishes... I do not put the tray on. That way (my thinking...) she won't confuse it and understand that the tray means that it's meal time. I started her on cereal 2-3 weeks ago, she loves it! We've recently moved her onto banannas too. Started with pears but she hated them. She loves to eat her cereal, and banannas. We to it 2x a day. After the first week, she really has learned to open her mouth really well for the spoon. She had her 4 month shots about 3 weeks ago, too. Was not as bad as her first time, thankfully. She did have a fever for 2 days after, which I gave her tylenol. Developmentally, she can roll over (and tends to always do this during her night time sleep which scares me). She doesn't really like tummy time, most of the time. Me and my bf also think that she may skip crawling. She can reach and pick up toys. Loves Yo Gabba Gabba Yo- seriously! We put her in her "entertainer", and she is OK with it, enjoys it most of the time. We want to get a jumper- think she will love that. She is 24" and probably 15 lbs right now. She is such a cutie! Amazing little girl! She doesn't talk too much, never has but does put her hand in her mouth and loudly goes "Arrraaaagh, arrrraaaaah, arrrraaaah, aaaahhhhhh!" But only with her hand in her mouth! Rarely "talks"... sometimes when I whisper to her, she will quietly talk back with a big smile. She makes lots of noises, like grunting, laughing, etc... but doesn't sit there and babble away. I wish she would, as I love her little voice! Her favorite positions are sitting up (being propped usually by me) and she loves standing- jumping, and what we call, dancing. She also likes to be held over things, as to reach down and look down. All a__sisted by me or my bf. Her legs are very strong. Since birth, she has enjoyed doing the stand up/sit down with us. Most of my evenings are spent holding her in a standing position so my back and arms are TIRED by bedtime and I'm begging her to be tired enough to go to sleep! Man oh man! Alright, well hopefully it won't be a month before my next post. I really enjoy at least reading what everyone and their lo's are up to... Automsmommy.... did you say what your tatoo is? I'm just curious. I have always wanted one, or 10! ; )

austynsmommy - April 21

Hi ladies. Just checking in. It has been so nice out side so I haven't been on the computer much. We had snow pretty much all winter and now it is finally nice. My husband is doing real good after what happened to his dad. It is just a pain because my mother in law is kind of expecting us to clean her house up and it is just nasty. It doesn't look or smell like it has been cleaned in years. I don't understand why it hasn't because my father in law and mother in law don't have jobs. We live about 2 hour's away and my hubby works real long hours. I don't really know what's going to happen. As for my post partum depression I feel alot better. I think it might be the nice weather. I haven't been depressed at all this last week. I feel pretty good. Well I need to get to bed. I am so stinking tired. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Amanda

Kimmer23 - April 21

Hey girls! Sorry it's been a while. I'm having a kinda hard morning being away from my little man. Usually my hubby drops him off in the morning, but this morning I had to take him...I HATE leaving him! So, started crying as I left the babysitter... I know he'll be ok, I just really miss him, especially after spending a long weekend with him. micsimms - I live in Ohio. The weather here on Sat. was great!! It was Brady's Baptism, so it was nice that the weather was nice for that and the reception we had afterwards. We had a lot of people in town- it was nice to see everyone. But, I was kinda glad to have the house to ourselves finally last night. Do you live here too? I forget where everyone is from... I'm getting worried about my little guy too. He's SOOOOO small compared to most of the babies on this thread. His 4 month check up is this coming Monday - I'll be sure to ask the doctor about it. I don't know how much he weighs, but I would guess that he is just over 11 pounds. Colleen - that day sounds amazing!! You're dh sounds great. I love my dh too, and he helps out a lot with the lo, but that's awesome!! oh, and we have a bumbo, and we just really started to use it more. He likes to sit supported (usually on my lap). So, he'll go in it at times. And, he'll put some weight on his legs when he is "standing". But not much or for too long. I wouldn't worry about Luke. It sounds like he's right on track :) Oh, and Brady is starting to "talk" so much! He babbles all the time now - I love it! He's also starting to make more sounds. And, his little sigh melts my heart. Oh, and he hates tummy time. If I can get him to do it for a few minutes a day, I'm lucky. I worry that his little arms aren't getting strong enough because of it. He holds his head up perfect (sitting, etc), but his arms aren't very strong. He rolled over a bunch of times from his tummy to his back, but he hasn't in about a week...maybe I just need to work with him some more. Or, maybe I can ask the abysitter to work on tummy time as much as possible. So, can he go in a jumper yet? We have one in the attic...but maybe we'll bring it down and let him try it out. austynsmommy - I'm glad you are feeling better. The nice weather always helps my mood too :) Oh, one last thing - I think Brady has taken a step back on the sleeping thorugh the night thing. He gets up 3-4 times now...I'm just sooo tired. Any suggestions? Should I keep him up later? Or put him to bed earlier and then wake him for a dream feed? Or do you think he needs more to eat during the day? Will starting solids soon help? Or is it his small size? Ok...enough ???s. I hope everyone is doing well. jess and jeni - how's it going? TTYL!! Kim

clindholm - April 24

Hi girls- Don't really have time for a full post, will have to catch up later. Just been real busy at work. Hope everyone is doing well and have a great weekend, the weather here in CT is supposed to be gorgeous. Have to get the kiddies outside for some quality time. Take care! Colleen
