Thanks Shelly. I have Aveeno and Balmex- hopefully they will work along with letting him "air out" occasionally!

wash him at least once in the area every day (but not too much) even if you dont give him a bath, after wahsing, b4 bed, and the first morning diper, and when the rash seems iritated put a light coating of a&d ointment on the area also let him air out some and at least for night and travel put him in a diaper that is a size bigger than normal (gets more air to the area than a tight diaper) that method worked great for my dd when she had a rash and i told a friend what i do for rashes and it worked great for her ds

I'm a huge fan of Polysporin Triple. We go through tubes of it our house! I use it for everything! If all else fails, give it a try! But it sounds like you know what you are doing..........!

I am so scared of diaper rash that I wipe my son with a damp cloth after every diaper change. I only use wipes when I'm travelling. I have also heard of some mothers who apply desitin ointment after every diaper change.

Nadya hasn't had one yet. Fortunately, she's very noisey when she poos, so there's no chance of not noticing. :) I hope she never gets it. I usually use a little bit of Zinc and Caster Oil cream and leave her diaper off for a while between changes. She's happiest when she diaperless.

That's sad FF! Whenever Lucas gets a slightly red bottom, I put on A&D ointment and it clears right up. Hope his little bottom gets better soon!

Emma got a rash from the start too. I apply Desitin at every diaper change no matter what and let her air out really good when possible. That seems to clear it up in a day or two. I felt so bad cus for the first time the other day she was just screaming bloody murder and I couldn't figure out why cus she normally loves baths, here she had a good blister going on and I didn't realize it. I felt just horrible!!! She's only 7 wks old. It was one of those crying jags where they get so upset they don't breath and I freaked out!!!! Poor girl!

uck, I don't use damp cloths for diaper changes..the hospital did that when she was born and THAT gave her a rash. Now we use baby wipes with aloe and vitamin E and it does the trick. =)

Try Pampers Sensitive Wipes. They really seemed to help with my 7 wk old.

I switched to cloth diapers because Sara kept having rashes. She hasn't had one since the switch. She has been rash free for 4 1/2 months. It's cheaper too!

I don't see anything wrong with a damp cloth, contains no chemicals etc unlike some of the wipes, and regarding cloth i always a__sumed they would give u a rash more so than disposables which are more absorbent. Isn't that how it is though. I have cloth here, still havent used them cause i a__sume all that wee stuck to her bottom if not changed right away would cause a rash

Believe it or not the best treatment is vasaline and powder with cornstarch. It has always worked better than any diaper cream.

Oddly enough - b___stmilk works wonders on diaper rash.
