I am going back to work in little over a week. My son does not have a nap time schedule but does sleep pretty good at night. I need to get him on a nap time schedule before I go to work. I would like to get some ideas of other babies schedules. Thanks

Hi again monica, I am not stalking you, it is slow at work today! LOL! But I wanted to answer because I am so excited that Lucas has finally put himself on a napping schedule the last few weeks. He takes a half hour nap 1-2 hours after getting up in the morning, then at 11am he sleeps for 2-3 hours (finally, yay!), and then takes a half hour nap around 4pm and a 45 min nap around 6:30pm. Goes to bed about 9:30pm, usually gets up between 6 and 7am in the morning. The times vary a little bit on some days, but this seems to be his new schedule. Hope it goes well for you!

lol I know you are not stalking me....your funny...Your schedule sounds good. I have to start trying today but the problem is tha he wont stay asleep for longer than 30 minutes.

How many naps at 30 min does he take a day? Lucas never slept longer than 30 min until a few weeks ago either. I thought he would never sleep longer during the day. I think its because his belly is feeling better and he is more comfortable. I have no idea how to get them to sleep longer when they just don't though.

he takes a 30 minutes nap every 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I just fed him and put him in his crib...will see what happens. Its 9:30 here I hope he sleeps until 10:30

I was always told to take off babys clothes, wait about 3-4 minutes then take the temperature from under the arm pit. Its the most accurate reading.

oops! for different thread! sorry!

Wow, that's a lot of catnaps! Hopefully he'll sleep longer for you. I'll keep my fingers crossed. I guess that's better than when Lucas barely slept 30 min every 2-3 hours previously. I do not know how he stayed awake all that time!

well its 10 and he woke up that was a half hour nap...I am going to leave him in his crib for another 10 minutes will see if he cries or not.

Oh no! Well, that's just how he likes to sleep I guess. Your mom probably wants more of a break than that though, huh. You probably do too!

CEM - November 22

Hi monica! My baby goes to bed at around 7:30pm, gets up to eat anywhere between midnight and 3am. He sleeps until around 7am, then naps straight through from about 10am until 1pm. But he sleeps outside in his stroller, all bundled up, nice and cosy, in our garden. I don't know if you can do this, or feel comfortable doing it, but being outside in the fresh air works wonders! If he's inside, he'll only sleep for half an hour. We're in Denmark, and that's what everyone does here. At first, I thought it was weird, but now I can see why they do it! We're in a small town so it's really safe. Don't know where you are, but try it if you can! :)

Asjani wakes up at around 7:30 every morning has a 2-3 hour nap at 11:00am (after the Backyardigans) then has a 30 minute nap at around 6:00pm.

Amaya's mommy aka Stephanie - November 22

Amaya wakes up at about 8:30 then takes a nap from about 11-12, then another nap from 4-4:40 then another 30 minute nap at 6pm, she goes to bed at 8 or 8:30. She is almost 7 months old.

Hey Monica, I found that the book the Secrets of the Baby Whisperer to be really helpful re napping etc and schedules. My little guy is almost 4 months and goes to bed around 7:30, gets a dream feed at 10 and then sleeps til 6 or 7 and then has a nap at about 8:30 for 45 mins, another one around noon for about the same amount of time and then a long one around 3:30 - for 2 or 3 hours. The book basically suggests eat, activity and then sleep - kinda like how we adults do things! I think it works very well!!!! They like schedules and this way they know, I eat, I play, I sleep, I eat, I play...etc!
