So he is going for a month? When is that? It's christmas in 34 days. Is he planning on being away over the holiday season? I'm glad you have your parents for help and support :-) At least there is someone there to talk to in person. Gawd...... 34 days till christmas! This year has flew over.

Lisa, how you doing? Tonia you are one tough cookie and your post really puts things into perspective for me (but can't let dh see it, he'll think I'm such a whimp :) ). I'm having a really hard time distinguishing between hunger and colics, how does one know for sure? And, is it bad if she feeds when she has colics (whenever she cries I put her to my b___st)? Hope everyone's well, I'm so exhausted :(

Barb and Mary thanks for signing my guestbook I just realized and approved your posts...had no clue what I was doing that's why it took so long...I'm using that feature because of that poor lady who posted that someone left a very nasty message on her website! Mary I took a peek at your blog recently and saw Jaime, so precious!!!

Lisa, just dropped by your baby's website, she's adorable and I can tell she's going to be very exotic-looking and beautiful, good job ;)

Hey Mary, I just saw the post in which you were asking me about my labor etc...Yeah I made the due date (she's punctual like her dad!) but labor was horrible. I started what I thought were painful contractions (realized later that they were childplay in comparison to the real thing) 36 hours before delivery but my doc kept giving me paracetamol which made them subside. My cervix wasn't dilating at all and I went to the clinic twice to be checked. The second time he checked me, I started bleeding (like I was having a period) and I was still not even a fingertip so the doctor made me go to the hospital (that was Thursday 27th at night). When they hooked me up to the monitors etc...my contractions had subsided again and weren't strong or frequent enough to start the epidural (I was kind of embarra__sed then for making everyone rush to the hospital). They suggested giving me a very strong painkiller and stay the night so I agreed to stay but that I would wait on the painkiller (I don't know why but I wasn't very comfortable taking anything). The doctor said I won't be delivering for another 12 to 24 hrs so everybody went home (mom, in-laws etc...) and dh and I slept. I woke up at about 2 am with very strong contractions but I was too embarra__sed to call the doctor again (in case they subside as usual when they hook me up to the monitor) so I waited in agony. Kept walking around the room and doing squats and attempting anything to make the pain more bearable but to no avail...finally after 90 minutes of holding out, I finally called the doc on call who checked me and gave me the strong painkiller I had refused earlier. I was by then 2 cm dilated and all the painkiller did was make me drowsy but the pain kept intensifying. I started really freaking out and within 30 minutes the contractions became so unbearable that I was screaming like a mad woman. When the doc checked me then I had rapidly progressed to 8 cm so he quickly called my doctor to come in. While I was waiting and wishing I was dead, my waters broke and I was panicking that it would be too late for the epidural (I thought I read somewhere that they don't give it to you beyond 7 cm)...finally ob and anaesthesiologist showed up and I got the epidural and I became the happiest person in the world (dh says he could see it on my face)...after that I didn't feel anything and they had to tell me when to push...Zein was born at 7 am that morning, after 3 strong pushes, an episiotomy and ma__sive hemarrhoids!!! Sorry for the long story, did you post your birth story somewhere, I don't think I've seen it...

Shannon and Lesley, just dropped by Isabelle's and Ben's websites, it's great to finally put an image and baby to everyone's name :) Congratulations to you both, such cute babies everywhere!!! Kim, I think your baby's the only one I haven't seen yet, do you have pictures online? Can everyone tell that Zein took a really long nap today :p

Lesley - November 20

Thank you Ranya! I'm gonna update it at some point really soon. I just find it impossible to find the time these days! I'm sure you will let me off though lol. When I update it it will have more photos of all of us on there. There is one of me and John (my partner) but it's not very recent! I look like a kid on it!! I want a picture of the 5 of us, but it's getting someone to take it. There isn't many pictures of me with the kids, cos I'm the photographer :-( I need one of them timer cameras.

Shannon - November 20

awww! thanks Ranya. and thanks to barb for signing my guestbook! :-) well, i was supposed to see harry potter last night but i was bitterly disappointed. my babysitter got the flu and i don't know too many people around here so i didn't know who else to call. then my dh suggested that we just go with isabelle. seeing this movie has been something i've been looking forward to all month, so i said fine, just as long as you take her out if she starts screaming. she slept through the first like 30 mins then woke up crying so he took her out. i couldn't watch much more of the movie without worrying, then he came back, thinking she was quiet, but she started crying again, so we both just left and went home. i was so disappointed, but i guess it serves us right for thinking we'd get away with it. we wouldn't have even tried watching it anyway, but we bought the tickets ahead of time. *sigh* anyway, enough complaining....lisa- i'm glad ur parents are there for you, things will get better for you, i know it.

Lesley - November 20

Hey Shannon, my mum is at the pictures watching Harry Potter now. I am rather annoyed at her though. She has took 3 of her nieces but not her grandson. She says he wouldn't sit through it but I know he would. He has sat and watched the first one in here without so much as a peep out of him. I can't believe she has not took him. She told him she was going and she was takin her nieces which has wound him up. I was going to take him to the park for an hour, but it's icey and really cold outside. So yet another day of being stuck indoors. Anyone got any ideas of how to keep kids occupied, which doesn't involve money. I haven't got 2 pennies to rub together :-(.

lisa - November 20

lesley, potato printing, leaf collection/collage

Lesley - November 20

That potato stamping sounds like a good idea! I might get some paints and sponges whn I go shopping next. It will keep them occupied for a while! I can't go leaf picking. It is really cold outside and I don't want to take them out in it unless I really have to. Tomorrow I have my 1st visit from the health visitor. At least I'll have someone to talk to for half an hour! Is anyone else going crazy with having no adult company?

JB - November 20

Lesley, yep, I know how you feel. I almost get to the point I might have to harra__s the telemarketers to carry on a conversation with an adult. haha. As far as indoor activities, I've been making my kids write (draw pictures) to Santa or cut/rip pics out of ads. Cheesy, I know, but it keeps the peace for awhile.

Lesley - November 20

That seems like a good idea too. I will get a couple of Argos catalogues when I'm shopping too, get the kids to cut out what they want and glue them to paper rather than write a list. I will obviously have to help my daughter though. Really when you think about it there is a load of stuff you can do that costs nothing but keeps the kids occupied!

Shannon - November 20

hey, i just wanted to share the good news, that isabelle's crying-for-6-hrs-in-the-evening streak seems to have broken!! :-) by comparison she's been a saint the last couple days. she's also been sleeping more, which makes me wonder if she went through a growth spurt or something.

lisa - November 21

morning everyone. hope everyone has a nice day, im staying in all day, its freezing outside, my parents are leaving to take my c___p dh to the airport, hes going for a month, is not paying the bills for a month and has no bthought to me left on my own or the fact hes leaving his 19 day old daughter, so selfish, hoping a friend will come round tonight, i can fel being alone might be too much to cope with

sheree - November 21

Lisa- I was just wondering if u r b___st feeding or not, cause u've noted that u've been crying alot ( understandable ) and that bub is upset and hard to settle at times, well ur emotins will come thru ur milk, so if ur upset then it's going to go thru ur milk and bub will be upset, any kind of stress will. Thought that might help abit if u r b___st feeding, all the best anyway.
