Anyhow....what methods of birth control have worked for you ladies. We will try one more time to have a boy, but we want to wait a few years. Give me some advice ladies!

Nuva ring is a lifesaver!! Ask about it at your doctors appointment. You don't have to worry about the daily pill thing or using a sticky patch every week. You just put nuva ring in for 21 days and forget about it!! You can't feel it and it's so easy to put in and take out. Good luck, if it seems un-interesting, at least ask your doctor about it! I love it so much.

I asked my doctor today about that and that is what she gave me a pamphlet one. Some of the girls at my work use it or know someone who does and some say they dont like it. Just wondering for all suggestions.

I'm looking for birth control, too...my doctor says that if I get pregnant again in the next 6 months, she'll refuse to treat me, and recommend that I have an abortion...anyway, I was thinking about an IUD.

Jamie....I think I will ask my doctor about that next month.

I just had my IUD removed in May and I had it in for 2.5 years. It was absolutley the best birth control that I have ever used. It was the copper one and it was good for ten years. The only drawback that I found with it was I had a lot more cramping and heavier periods with it, but I delt with it! For those of you who don't know, it's shaped like a "T" and inserted into your cervix, (I belelive). You ovulate every month like normal, but the copper is what kills off the spermies. I had read on another thread a while back that some ignorant fool posted that it gives you an abortion every month. Obviously that is not the case. Anyways, I, and a number of other people I know have it and love it.

Steph....Did your husband ever notice it? And do you have to have a procedure to have in inserted or what?

Why would your Dr. suggest an abortion if you were to get pregnant in the nexted 6month????

Never an IUD - September 22

I would NEVER use an IUD. They CLAIM there is a 1/1000 chance of becoming pregnant on it but if you go to the Pregnancy Complications board, there are several threads of women who became pregnant with an IUD and once you are pregnant, it is difficult to remove and can kill your baby. I would go read those threads before considering such a dangerous form of BC.

Steph - September 22

No, my husband was never able to feel the IUD. You are supposed to check it after every period, and you do that by feeling a little tiny string that comes out of your cervix. If it's not there, then you have your doc check it out. ***Here's some info I found on pregnancy and the IUD (the copper one) If you become pregnant with an IUD in place, your health professional may recommend that the IUD be removed. This is because the IUD can cause miscarriage or preterm birth (the IUD will not cause birth defects). Taking out an IUD early in a pregnancy lowers risks of miscarriage or preterm birth. However, IUD removal can also cause a miscarriage. As a pregnancy progresses, miscarriage risk is lower than if an IUD is left in place. I found it to be the best birth control that I have ever used. You should look up information on it and then speak with your doctor about possibly getting one. If you don't like it, they'll take it out for you.

Do you work for the manufacturer of the IUD or something? I have seen you defend it in other threads as well and I really wish you would not downplay the severity of the possible complications with the IUD. There is no other form of birth control with such a high statistic that if it does fail, can cause death to your unborn child and the scariest part is that the Doctors are just as uncertian as the public if it is better to leave it in or remove it if the woman becomes pregnant because the risks are so high. If you have had success with it, that is wonderful but please do not try to make light of the serious troubles this product has caused to several woman in the world. Thank you.

I forgot to take the pill also. So now I am on the patch. It works well for me. Maybe you should look into it.

Steph - September 26

No, I don't work for the manufactuer. I don't see anything wrong with giving my opinion about a form of birth control that I really liked. Is there something wrong with that? Sure, there can be issues with any type of birth control, i.e., birth control pill, if you smoke you are more prone to blood clots and so on and so on....here's some side effects with the Nuva Ring.... * Vaginal infections and irritation * Vaginal discharge (leukorrhea) * Headache * Upper respiratory tract infection * Sinusitis * Weight gain * Nausea * Vomiting * Change in appet_te * Abdominal cramps and bloating * Breast tenderness or enlargement * Irregular v____al bleeding or spotting * Changes in menstrual cycle * Temporary infertility after treatment * Fluid retention (edema) * Spotty darkening of the skin, particularly on the face * Rash * Weight changes * Depression * Intolerance to contact lenses And then there's the patch, and if your over 200lbs...then it most likely won't work for you...and it has all the risks of the other BC methods. My point is, why the hell are you attacking me for advocating an IUD?? If you don't like it, which you obviously don't then don't freaking get one. But, your opinion and the fact that you have not had one does not make you any better of a person than I.

Jamie - September 26

Just got back from my 6 wwk checkup...I'm going on the pill again, hopefully I'll remember to take it!!! To the person who asked,I had severe complications during my recent pregnancy; it is my doctor's opinion that another pregnancy so soon could be potentially fatal to me and the fetus.

To Steph - September 26

Calm down Steph. You are not being attacked, it was a simple question because it is VERY alarming that you are giving out your opinion on a product and as soon as someone else does, you downplay their info as if it is no big deal when in fact IT IS A BIG DEAL.
